"★☆☆☆☆ Popularity ★☆☆☆☆ Size/Location ★★★★★ Terrain ★★☆☆☆ Scenery ★★★★☆ Accessibility ★★★★☆ Amenities ★★★★☆ Condition ★★★★★ Safety Date visited: 09/15/2023 During my recent exploration in the area, I seized the opportunity to visit Chamberlin Park, a destination that had piqued my curiosity for quite some time. This park offered a harmonious blend of the old and the new, making it a noteworthy stop on my journey. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find ample parking space in a large, accessible lot. It seemed that the lot was shared with a nearby school, yet it appeared oddly vacant during my visit. As I ventured further into the park, I couldn't help but notice the diverse array of activities and amenities it had to offer. A dog walker and a couple of fellow visitors, including an intrepid augmented reality gamer equipped with a backpack to brave the heat, were among the few souls I encountered during my initial exploration. Adjacent to the park, a community center buzzed with activity, with an individual busily arranging chairs on the grass field—evidence of some event or gathering in progress. The park itself was impressively equipped, catering to a variety of interests. Two children's playgrounds, soccer and tennis fields, pickleball courts, and even cornhole setups provided ample recreational opportunities. For sports enthusiasts, the presence of baseball fields offered the perfect setting for a game. Shelters, benches, and picnic tables were thoughtfully scattered throughout, providing a welcoming environment for rest and relaxation. Grills and drink fountains added to the park's convenience, while portable potties ensured essential facilities were readily available. As I ventured onto the paved trail, I noticed that it had recently undergone repairs. The lingering scent of asphalt hung in the air. While the trail offered a smooth surface for walking, its limited shade made the scorching sun more pronounced, emphasizing the need for sunscreen and a hat. A notable feature of Chamberlin Park was its memorial area, marked by flagpoles that paid tribute to the past. These symbols of remembrance added a touch of historical significance to the park, reminding visitors of the importance of honoring those who came before us. Although an active railroad was in proximity, I regretfully did not witness any trains passing by during my visit. However, this minor detail did little to diminish the overall charm of the park. Overall, Chamberlin Park is a delightful fusion of the old and the new, offering a wide range of recreational options for visitors of all ages."
"Attended a Family reunion here…. My first time visiting this park. Very nice. Parking is a walk from shelter & across railroad tracks. You would have to drive up to the shelter to unload or drop off physical limited person. Paid reservations are required."
"We took my son to a little festival at this park. It was really fun it was clean the people were friendly, food was good we will go back next year."
"Great Festival! Fireworks were so-so. The park has much to offer year-round for all age groups. Love ❤️ the walking trail and doggie drinking stations."
"Update - Free wifi now in the park plus big changes coming in the future. Looking forward to it. This park is a great place to take the kids or walk your dog. They have a walking path, playground sets in the front and rear, 5 baseball diamonds, 3 tennis courts, and a place to play corn hole. There are park shelters with picnic tables at the front and back of park. I have reserved these before for family reunions. Restrooms are near these. The Veteran's Memorial is near the front. It is very nice and the brick walk is paved with the names those who have served our country from around the city/area. Thanks to all Veterans!!! There is plenty of parking along the railroad tracks and in the rear near the Francis R. Healy Community Center. Deer Park Municipal Building is at the front which includes Police Department. You can feel safe visiting the park with this perk."
