"I cannot recommend this hotel - I’m shocked it as highly rated on Google as it is. While the front desk staff is nice, Robert was very accommodating, the hotel itself has too many downfalls. The largest of those downfalls being that my hotel room door did not lock unless the door was slammed shut and I only discovered this after someone from the maintenance staff came to investigate why my door wouldn’t lock. I came back to my room one day and without using my key was able to just push the door open. The cleaning staff was unaware of needing to slam the door so they unknowingly left my door completely unlocked. This is the #1 reason I will not return to this hotel. It’s not safe. While the front desk manager apologized, the fact that the hotel is out of date and old that leads to these issues. Water pressure in the shower is poor. Half of the rooms face the freeway so you hear the hum of the cars consistently. Little lighting in the parking lot."
"While expensive, this is a very nice hotel that offers great views of the river. It's also quite close to many, many shops/restaurants in Cuyahoga Falls. Service was exceptional and our room was fantastic."
"This hotel is in an amazing location, in a cute town, right on gorge with water rushing by. The staff was very friendly, however the hotel is rundown and dirty. It's off-season, I expect some renovation and repairs to be happening, but the furniture in our room was stained and worn, the floors were dirty with an old contact lense stuck to the bathroom floor, the hallways were musty smelling, the elevator to the rock patio was broken, the sauna was broken, the hot tub doesn't even exist anymore even though there's still a sign for it in the pool area. We got upgraded to a 2 level room with a balcony right out on the gorge. It would be beautiful if it wasn't so neglected. I am so appreciative of the staff for upgrading us, but frankly, I'd be furious if I paid the asking rate of $700 and ended up in a room like that. If we had gotten in earlier in the day with sunlight, we may have requested a different room. The light of the next day really brought out the problems."
"My wife and I visited Cuyahoga Falls from NW Indiana late December, 2023. I always wanted to kayak the river and the falls that are behind the hotel so my wife and I booked a room and I fired up an afternoon run. As thrilling as the falls were to boat, the hotel and town were equally amazing. We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were nice and spacious…. Maybe a bit outdated but the service, amenities, pool/ fitness center, and bar lounge were all top notch... but the location of the Sheraton is the main top selling point. Many rooms, the bar/ restaurant, elevator, fitness room, etc. look directly over the rapids and falls. It's like a hotel at a miniature Niagara Falls... There is always an awesome view! Also, there are many trails and boardwalks along the gorge and river that were all within a stones throw away from our room. I especially liked walking over the High Bridge Glens and looking down into the gorge which is just downstream of the hotel. From this view, it is hard to believe that you are in a metro area and not in the mountains.... We also hiked the next day at the nearby Lower Gorge Metro park area... Beautiful sights and geology. We really enjoyed this Hotel location and the city of Cuyahoga Falls. There is soooo much to do right in town. We visited many bars and restaurants and river overlooks while never moving the car. I kayak whitewater all over the country and can't believe that this location in nestled in a town in Ohio. Pictures could convince anyone that this is the Appalachians or the Rockies, but no... it's the Midwest. Talk about a diamond in the rough. We enjoyed our first night so much that we decided not travel to the Youghiogheny river in PA and stayed a second night. On a side note: I traveled through this area in the late 1990's a few times to kayak the lower Gorge of the Cuyahoga. The water smelled so bad that I couldn't put myself into the river. I heard the river had been cleaned up since. I was very impressed with the water quality improvement over last 25 years. Now this will become one of my favorite paddling destinations and favorite places to stay."
"I stayed here as a kid maybe 20 to 25 years ago as a kid and when I was looking for a hotel in this area decided to give it a try. The location of this hotel is very close to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, shopping, and a small downtown area that you can walk to. The views this hotel offer is the river are amazing. You can see it from their restaurant or if you get a river view room. Only negative of the river view rooms is the traffic that comes with this view. It is very noisy and can make sleeping difficult, would recommend taking a sound machine. The rooms are a bit dated, but seemed very clean. They offer a bedroom and living area with a kitchenette. Beds were comfortable, as well as the furniture. Main complaints were the TVs are old and while you can bring your own streaming device make it hard to hook it up. Bathrooms need some work. This hotel has maybe one of the best indoor swimming pools I’ve ever used. Back in the day they had a hot tub that is permanently closed. The windows offer amazing views of the trees and landscape. There is also a wrap around balcony you can sit on. Staff was all very friendly, let us check in early, and were very helpful."
