"She delivered my daughter and is literally the best, most personable OBGYN I’ve ever had! Anyone would be lucky to have her."
"Black women searching for an OB: I found Dr. Caldwell to be all of the great things mentioned in these comments. Seeing her, I found that I had fibroids which I was never told by any other doctor I have seen, in my entire life. Once giving birth to my child however, there was a small complication and it resulted in intense labor pains for hours, while waiting for this issue to resolve. The pain was unmeasurable. Here is where the three stars fall. Every time she visited my room, I’d beg her to help with the pain. As a black woman, sadly I’m accustomed to doctors not giving me the same care as a white woman or person. I had not experienced that with her, until watching her, arms crossed, staring at me intensely as I writhed in pain, literally begging for relieve. Every time, she would just repeat “oh, but you’re doing so good”. I cried and begged repeatedly. She’d only repeat herself, “ooh, I know. But you’re doing so good”. Those words and her staring down at me is burned into my mind. I realized she was measuring the amount of time in which I could withstand that pain. My baby was crooked and therefore stuck. 9.5 centimeters for hours. I was becoming stressed and weak. I could feel myself fading. But only when my mother in law begged her to help and shared what happened to her when the doctor didn’t listen, did she finally order an epidural. I delivered him within minutes after that. She watched me endure this pain for over 8 hours when she could have relieved my pain, for the sake of knowledge. Many may find this unreal, or reaching. I employ you to remember; if you are a white woman you could never know what this treatment looks and feels like. I’m not a science project. And I know black women deserve care that doesn’t result in prolonged pain and indifferent treatment. There are special centers that measure this more humanely than in the 20’s and 30’s and we should not continue to be subjected to this by any doctor for any reason. I deserved the right to have a peaceful birth just as any other woman, of any other race."
"One of the best OBGYN Drs ever! She is so personable and truly cares."
