Reviews
"This location is dated and not well maintained. I was very disappointed in my stay. I would not recommend this location even for the price. Save yourself the trouble and pay a little more for quality/comfort!"
"I don’t typically do hotel reviews but the experience here was too crumby not to. I spoke with who I believe was the owner, I reserved a room over the phone and he explained weekly price for both 1 KBed or 2 DBeds are in fact the same price, traveling with my mother the 2 beds was the best option so that’s what we chose. I arrive and was not greeted but rather questioned by the owners wife who was wearing pajamas “what do you need?” I explained I had already reserved a room and was here to check in. The price was honored and we went to our room only to find one bed. We went back to the lobby and explained it was supposed to be a 2 beds and she very rudely tells me that “no the price will be more” so I explained what the owner said she replied “the owner is my husband and he would never say that” so at that point I did not even feel comfortable enough to stay there I asked for a refund and stayed elsewhere. If you’re a preparing to come into town and looking for a place to stay DO NOT stay here if you’re expecting to be accommodated in someway, looking for cleanliness and or good customer service because you will not find it here. Will not return."
"My mother was staying there, and she suffers from a mental disorder and is an alcoholic. She had come into some inheritance and stupidly bragged about it to everyone that worked there. They then took advantage of her, made her take them out shopping, and when she had disappeared, I went to her hotel room to find her, and I found her door open with her safe emptied, and some of her belongings still in the room. Anyone could’ve walked into that room, but when I asked the people who worked there what happened to my mothers belongings the manager locked the door and told me I had to leave and then called the police and had me charged with criminal trespass. A few days later police were called and come to find out the people who worked there had stolen my mother’s belongings. So, even though they claimed I was making a scene, all I was trying to do was protect my mother’s belongings from them and they were in fact, stealing from her and using her. It’s all on police record that I have recently obtained. I don’t understand how these people were not charged with elder abuse and theft. The manager, Mary Kathleen Buskirk should’ve been fired and prosecuted. I know I have left this review before and they had it removed. Now I have the proof."
"DO NOT STAY HERE! We were checked into a room with a non-working toilet. When I called to the front desk, they said they were sending a maintenance person out. I asked to be moved to another room, they argued with me stating they were sending a maintenence person. I called a second time at 9pm and again requested another room at this point because the maintenance person never showed. They stated because it was after 8pm I couldn't change and wouldn't receive a refund. We had to drive to use a toilet. I am disputing the charges and contacting corporate because the manager was rude and less than helpful by asking "what do you expect me to do about it"?"
"The exterior is meh; about what you'd expect from a budget hotel. The front desk clerk was accommodating when I had to return because the room keys didn't work. The bed was decent, with newer linens that felt clean. The rest was just gross. The drapes were falling off the hooks, so no privacy. The window didn't close properly or lock (kind of a big deal on the first floor). The door was gappy and dodgy; thankfully there was no rain. The coffee maker was broken (not that I'd ever drink in room coffee), and there was no coffee or cups, so why the pot? This hotel isn't gawd awful and even with a little TLC it's not going to be great, but it would have a chance to reach mediocre status. It's right on the river and the outdoor space has potential that could easily make up for dead bugs and cracked lamp shades."
