"I'm so grateful I found Gem City Vet, my dog was in distress, they examined her, even though we had to have her euthanized (she was 18 yrs old and in congestive heart failure)... For the exam, euthanize, mass burial, I was only charged $75... And the next week I received a sympathy card from Gem City Vet with Chi-Chi footprints, and a lock of her hair.... Everyone was so caring.... This is a great place."

"I would say Gem City Should include providing Food Stamps card, SSI/SSDI Benefits Letter, Medicare Insurance etc before scheduling or accepting clients. Similarly to how SOS of Ohio in Columbus requires legitimate proof of low income. a lot of people are not on low in come and is abusing the system and making other people who are actually low in come harder to be seen. I find it truly disgusting that people are taking advantage of the system because they don’t have to require proof. These people are making an extra burden on the vets and techs here because they are overly swamped by clients who are not low in come. Please update this so People can be seen effectively and the system can stop being abused. I’m on SSDI and I am told that I Probably wouldn’t be seen today because of the long line, ive asked several people who was in attendance today if they was on government assistance and I was met with a puzzled look of worry. Please update and require some proof of income or disability to ensure the people who need services are receiving them. Arrived and checked in at 9:10 and I won’t be seen until after 1pm… I’ve sat 3 hours for nothing. I am disabled on SSDi, how many of the patients seen today was carried to be in low income? I can not afford another 45 min trip because no one’s income is being verified. Even the local humane society require income verification, Veterinary Center fees and eligibility Animal Humane Society is expanding access to affordable veterinary care by offering high-quality, low-cost services with affordable fees for everyone — with additional discounts to those who qualify based on income. To qualify for reduced fees, we will ask you to provide proof of income via a recent tax return or proof of enrollment in a qualifying government program* when you arrive for services. * Most government programs qualify clients for our reduced fees. If the Humane Societies require proof of income why can’t this place. Then they lied and said they couldn’t provide my 3month old puppy heart prevention without a heart work test which isn’t available until he’s 8months old. Like what in the lying is going on here. I would also like to include the conversation I had about this matter with the Manager TB. Where upon questioning her she tried to accuse me of being uncivil and my “body language” changing towards her. I find it very remarkable that when that didn’t work she then accused me of having a level of incompetence pertaining to needing to establish such verification. I find it unreasonable and very disgusting once again that she tried to make it seem like I was climbing over the counter in an enraged uncivil fashion all because I asked her why there isn’t any proper in come verification steps in place."

"A rather incredible place. Staff is amazing!!! And they work so well with different people and pets! These people always go above and beyond, and they even give out great resources. If you need vaccines or checkups for your pet this is definitely the place to come!!!"
