La Mexicana Cantina & Grill Tallmadge

"I will compare this Mexican restaurant to a few others as we all know the common taste of Mexican American fare. I ordered The Chipotle Shrimp. It had claims of being creamy but it was greasy. I rate it as sub average. Zoom in on my picture and you can see the grease on the edge. The best shrimp dish is the Camarones de Lujo of El Jalapeños in Barberton...then Tres Petrillos, El Rincon and then unfortunately LaMexicana. My daughter ordered the lobster chimichanga. This was the best lobster combo. Tasty and well put together. The salsa surprisingly... was THE BEST OF ANY OF THE MENTIONED PLACES!!! The chips were typical...maybe a little more than usual small pieces. The glasses of pop and iced tea were huge, however filled mostly with ice. ..less ice may be better. Despite that, the iced tea was above average. I will be back. Update Came back 1/10/24 and tried the Monterrey Potato with steak....very filling and tasty. I feel that it is pricey at 17$. Not really Mexican. The drink sizes shrunk slightly, but the salsa STILL THE BEST!!!."

"I have been here before and I used to get tostadas de ceviche. I thought I'd try something different and I ordered a torta al pastor and nachos libre with beef. Also ordered a michelada. Everything was very delicious. I noticed I wasn't given any red or green salsa. I asked for the red one and I was given a to go container filled with red salsa (the spicy salsa. I was charged extra for it). I did notice they have cholula which is awesome (other Mexican restaurants don't have cholula). The torta isn't as big as other places but it comes with fries. The restaurant is very lovely with outdoor seating. I was given the military discount but was told that they only give you the military discount if you're in uniform (I was not in uniform) and that it's the same for police (10%off while in uniform)."

"My husband & I went here for our date night this past Saturday night and let me just say...WE HAD A BLAST!!! Our servers name was Paulina and she was f'in AMAZING!!! She was so friendly and took very good care of us! And the food was PHENOMENAL!! I got the steak/chicken fajitas and my husband got the jumbo Burrito... anyways... it was all so good!!! But, Paulina was what made our night perfect!!! THANK YOU for such wonderful service and DELICIOUS food!! We will be back soon...and asking for our girl Paulina!!! "All I have to say is what a great hidden gem tucked away in this little plaza. The food was amazing and such a great atmosphere! The staff was always checking up on us and special shout out to our server Tania! My wife and I had a great experience and would highly recommend! Whatever you do, don't drive past this place. You won't regret it!"
