"This isn't a technical review of their products, prices or quality. Rather, I wanted to share a bit about their character. As hurricane Irma was bearing down and I couldn't find any plywood anywhere to protect my windows and doors, I started calling lumber yards (my fault for waiting so long, that's another story). Two places that shall remain nameless told me they wouldn't sell to me since I wasn't a contractor. I offered to pay double, pay cash, open a contractor account, anything. They both just said "sorry, no". They were more concerned with their business model (keeping the big construction guys happy) than with providing a fellow human the means to protect his family. Not so with Southern Pine. I called them, the told me what they had and at what price, sold me what I needed, and were kind and sympathetic. Their yard crew was also super helpful, helping me load what I needed quickly and carefully onto my trailer. They didn't price gouge that I know of, and from what I could see they were selling to any and all comers, big and small, first come first serve. I'm just a normal guy with a non-construction related job, but if I ever need any lumber or have any pull over any decision to purchase any building material, I'm going with Southern Pine. The other guys were going to let my home get pounded by wind a debris, but Southern Pine had the decency to put profit last so that they could help the community. Thanks a ton guys!"
