"More to come"
"I was extremely disappointed in the level of service and the amount of time it took to place an order. We needed a new water heater. The sales person assisting us spent a huge amount of time trying to reach the installation department. All told, it took several hours, including a half hour in which the salesperson disappeared without explanation. We still have not been able to verify if the unit will be delivered. Apparently, answering the phone is beyond the scope of the company used by Home Depot. I am going to cancel the order, and try a competitor to determine if customer service is better. The bar is pretty low, so it shouldn't be too difficult for Lowe's or Best Buy to offer better service."
"DO NOT USE HOME DEPOT INSTALLATION SERVICES! I went with Home Depot for carpet and a new custom window installation, expecting them to be the "professionals" they advertise to be. WORST DECISION I MADE IN MY LIFE! I have been dealing with them for 7 months now! When they came out and measured for the carpet, I showed the employee, (and he took pictures) that I did a mud base with my tile and i was going to need ramping from the tile down, some of which was up to 1 1/2 inch he said that's no problem. Wait two weeks for custom carpet to come in, installation day comes I remind him, there needs to be ramping done, he said "no problem, I do it at the end". 3 hours into this installation (which took this long because they sent ONE employee to do the whole job) he says "I cant do the ramping you have to have a contractor come and do concrete" I said how am i supposed to do concrete work when you have just completely installed my carpet with a giant step down into my rooms. Call the store, they are useless and say its the subcontractors problem. Call the subcontractor, manager comes out I tell him my wall was damaged as well and will have to be repainted he says " I'll give you some money back for the cost to repaint and we can do the ramping i'll send my guys back out today". They come and basically make a ramp of about $30 in door shims which they charged me $155 for, instead of the gradual slopped ramps I was described to by the person who measured. They also created a ramp on my top step, instead of just building the step up so if I am carrying something heavy down the stairs I constantly almost fall forward. Also now the subcontractor refuses to compensate for damaged wall he promised he would. Next the very expensive "custom window" that takes 6-8 weeks to be made. Installation day comes the window is about a good inch and a half to small. Installer says they have been having issues with this one person who measures and all his work is coming in wrong for months now (so why does this guy still have a job). They say they will have to make another window, that's another 6-8 weeks. Went on vacation came back my new carpet was wet and smelled like there was a leak. Call home depot went back and forth installer offered to pay to replace carpets ( HOME DEPOT TOOK ZERO BLAME AND MADE INSTALLER PAY OUT OF POCKET). Turned out to be a weird coincidence, where a roof leak started at the same time and I did not cash the check from that installer. Second window gets installed, two managers come out during second install, offer me no compensation for the screw up. I'm told someone will contact me for inspection, no one ever does. I get a letter from the city saying my permit is about to expire. I call the manager, Jim, tell him i'm available any afternoon just tell me what day. Never hear back from him, called multiple times, left messages he never returns calls for over a week. Finally he answers and has made zero progress! These people are incredible unprofessional its ridiculous I have to constantly chase them down just to get any answer out of them. I spent thousands with them and they cant even do the most basic job! NEVER AGAIN!"
"I was helped with a water pump installation by Ray from the plumbing section. He was very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful to the point that he called another store to make sure that they had a part that they didn't have. He even had expertise on output and input pressures for proper pump operation. Great job!"
