"DONT LEASE WITH THIS COMPLEX!! This place has very bad service when it comes to maintenance and they dont care what type of experience the tenants deal with. They make you wait weeks to have anyone over to fix things and all they could say is "We are only handling emergencies at the moment" Save yourself the frustration and move else where."

"Moved in to The Upton October of 2022. Management team has been awful from the jump. Showed us a beautiful model apartment and never showed us our actual unit. Only after signing the contract we were informed of differences between the model unit and our actual unit including the type of flooring in the apartment. During our time here the quality of living has been awful. Have dealt with constant bug issues all year amongst many other things. Now move out time has come and they’re tacking on additional fees without any communication in writing. Would give this property 0 stars if I could."

"DO NOT RENT HERE! Please, take the advice... I wish I knew. If I could give them 0 starts I would. Their model apartment has NOTHING to do with the real ones. Our AC NEVER worked, the cabinets were pealing off, they "tried" to fix it because of the amount of complains we made, but they just look the same. The stove didn't work and the dryer machine only drys if you set it up 2 or 3 times. We pay a crazy amount of money in electricity because of this. Management is unprofessional and very disrespectful. They DON'T care about their tenants. We moved on a weekend and on Monday the manager "offered" us to leave but we needed to drop the keys that day by 6pm, we didn't do it because we didn't have anywhere else to live. WORST DECISION EVER!!!!! If you are already living here and have problems with them, my BEST advice when you email them make sure you CC the emails to whoever they are CC their emails, send pictures and record videos!!! It's unfortunate because the location is nice."

"Ended up having to pay to break my lease because my building (#13) along many others was severely contaminated with hazardous black mold that the management company refused to acknowledge or release us from the lease due to safety and health concerns. See attached proof from the “Disaster Response” vehicles that were in the complex going building to building for weeks. It was not just our building. This was not a sudden issue, the cause was due to leaks in the roof that began after a hurricane from 2018. Management knew for years of neighbors complaining and chose to do nothing until it was a serious health issue. Terrible experience with unprofessional and unresponsive customer service from the office staff all the way to Michelle Bravo at the New York headquarters. I will never trust or stay with another Maxx Property managed property. It took weeks of calling and leaving voicemails with legal action requested to get a call-back. The office would not allow appointments to be scheduled due to COVID. Completely non-functional and inconsiderate of people’s homes and lives. I was never late with payments and provided documentation for my family (including photos and vet records for my pet cat.) I lived in apartment 13-104 from August 2018 until January 2021."

"VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS....I've been lied to over and over by Denae the community manager. Management do not care about their tenants. All they care about is collecting rent. I am paying premium prices for an apartment that I can not enjoy. On October 16, 2018 my apartment was flooded due to fire sprinklers they were replacing. I was displaced for five days and had to pay out of pocket for a hotel room. Its now November 1st and I still have loose baseboards, lifted carpet, metal pieces and nails all over my carpet, hole in the ceiling etc. Calling the office does not work. I'd have to show up and cross my fingers hoping to find someone that can answer my questions and concerns. I AM FURIOUS. I am looking to break my lease and leave."
