"If you are an immigrant who suffers from nostalgia, and you really want to relive life in Cuba or another Latin American country, without basic services or hygiene and where impunity reigns and your complaints are ignored, then Paradise at Dadeland is the ideal place for you. The atmosphere is so similar to the third world that you will feel at home, with everything but comfort. My parents live in that condo, and right now they've been without gas for three days, which means they don't have hot water either, and no one offers them any apologies or explanations. It is literally "another day in paradise"."
"I did not have any gas to cook at my unit for 2 weeks. Every time we called the office, we were told the issue was in the whole area. We called multiple times and were given the run around and were told they had no clue when it would come back on. The last time we had called, we were told they would send someone to our unit to see what was happening. No one came and we were home all day. We were finally given GREGS number who is the property manager and have never experienced such horrible service. He was extremely nasty, rude, and had no interest in hearing our complaint. He only wanted to get off the phone. After looking into this further, I am being told that this is normal behavior for Greg. I hope this issue gets looked into further as that is no way to treat a tenant."
"I lived here for one year and it was easily the worst place I have ever lived. The place is disgustingly dirty--maintenance does nothing, and they can't enforce the association rules because half the people own the apartments, so there is no recourse. As stated in other posts, people do not clean up after their dogs, and let them off the leash and relieve themselves in the staircases and everywhere else. Staircases are filthy. Probably about half the people have pit bulls, and I saw them often off-leash, which seems dangerous. Pools are very small, and loaded with dog hair from people taking their dogs in the pools. The complex is very, very loud, with many people playing music (and shouting...and screaming) at all hours. It was unbelievable. The secretary in the office was extremely rude to occupants (but she was very nice when we were looking, of course). Maintenance also did lock the dumpsters so you couldn't throw away your trash after 4pm. Also, there was a lot of theft. There is no (working) gate and anyone off the street can come in, park, steal stuff. Anything. The laundry machine was always broken because people would smash it and take the money. So occasionally you can't even wash your cloths. Bikes were stole, and apartments were broken into when I was there. I am so soooooo happy to have moved, and our new complex is wonderful. My advice: do not stay at "paradise" (lol) at Dadeland. It is disgusting, loud, and dangerous. The staff is very rude, and maintenance does nothing. It took days for them to fix anything if they came at all. Awful, awful place, and the worst living experience I've ever had by far."
"This is the worst place I've ever lived, and, unfortunately am stuck here for a few more months. The worst part about this complex is probably the employees who work here, who are extremely rude. The place is very dirty, dogs (including pitbulls) are off-leash everywhere, and they lock the garbage after 4 pm so you can't throw away your trash in the evenings or on weekends. The office staff is very rude, and the maintenance staff does nothing. Garbage is everywhere, and last year they spray painted the parking lot instead of actually paving it. Some of the storm damage from the hurricane last year still hasn't been repaired. This place is a slum because the administration does not do its job. Every other complex in the area is much, much nicer, with much better staff. I'm not sure how these people get away with treating residents so poorly, but I know a couple lawsuits are in the works. Can't wait to leave. Do yourself a favor and don't move here."
"This is not a current review - I lived at an apartment here when I was in college at the UM back about 1980. The location was great - I lived on the 3rd floor in a 1-bedroom with a screen-in lanai overlooking the expressway off ramp. This is on North Kendall Drive about 1/4 mile off US1/Dixie Hwy and Dadeland Mall is a block walk. I loved the location. There were a variety of pools you could use. I have no idea how it is nowadays but if a unit was for sale for under $100k I'd be tempted to go down there and check it out. I still remember the area like the back of my hand."
