Emerald Bay

"Moved down from NYC and applied to this building w/ my BF. We both have high-income jobs, I have great credit but my BF's could be improved. When we were introduced to the manager Marcela, she seemed to judge my BF because of his tattoos (He has two full sleeves). She was dismissive, wouldn't address him, and assumed I would be the only one financially responsible for the apartment. When it came to income, she asked if he was "on government assistance", in disbelief that he has a full-time job. We just brushed that off & applied anyway. We sent the required docs which included the 3 most recent paystubs according to the application. Marcela emailed my BF for an additional 3 months of HIS paystubs (not mine), again seeming to doubt he has a job. We then paid the application fee and were told it would be refunded (it never was). After 5 days, my BF received a rejection letter for credit reasons but I received no letter or notice to this day. Ater waiting several hours, I decided to email Marcela for an update on MY application. She never replied back, and never sent me a DENIAL notice as is required by the FCRA."
