Veranda Flats

"I have been living here for about a month. Location: I would give it 2.5 stars, it is about 2 miles (6-10 min) away from 275 and is located close to a chaotic part of route 19. Ammenities: 4 stars, but I am super lucky and live on the ground level with a decent size patio. We also have a dishwasher and washer/dryer unit. The only reason it is 4 and not 5 stars is because the layout is wonky- in order to use the washing machine my roommate has to come into my room because they placed it in the bedroom closet... And I have to go through his room to get to the patio because the door is only in one of the bedrooms. Building: 4 stars, Some of the renovations were very poorly done, the wood floor laminate peels without light traffic, water leaks, and cables don't go to the living areas. My neighbors have a dog in the apartment above me and I barely hear it. The walls are not too bad, occasionally so I can hear all about who was cheating last night when people are yelling. Most everyone is respectful and understanding so that compensates nicely. Updated to add office staff: 5 stars at this point, they called to see how they could help with the issues and to find a resolution."

"Lived here for over 2 years now. Love the people in this community! Everyone I meet is so polite and is happy to greet you with a smile here. Amber and Jenny in the office are incredibly helpful when it comes to resolving issues with resident portal accounts or any questions when it comes to lease terms, tours, or facility ammenities such as the laundry or pool. Maintenance is very quick, responsive and friendly. Pet friendly if your pets are friendly!"

"Environment wise it's good, Jenn the manager and Rich are very nice. However it's the stinkiest apartment I've ever lived in!!! We have a nice balcony, but thanks to the downstair smoking neighbor, I can never open the door or windows, because all the cigarette smokes blow right in the apartment! Even that the smell still come through the air vent! And the building has rule about only smoking in smoke area, but he just totally ignores it. Whole apartment smells like cigarette, all my clothes, blanket, everything. And when people come over they always ask do you smoke inside? And tonight they repainted upstairs apartment, and of course the smell come through the air vent again! Gives me headache and vomiting, and of course when I tried to open the door to clear some of the smell, he is smoking again! It's a nightmare to live here, It's like living in an ashtray! All I ask is some clean air to breathe, but I don't think it's gonna happen in here. This is why I am writing this review at 3am. So if you have kids or you don't smoke, don't choose here."

"Beautiful courtyard, grilling area and pool. and on-site property manager and maintenance. When needed , I get excellent response and care towards my needs. My small dog loves it here and there's a special dog area where he hangs out with his dog friends. Pest control comes every month to ensure there are limited (mostly none) bug problems that arise in this climate. I've been here for a few years and would never leave - except the cost of living here in St. Petersburg is rising. The rents here are in-line with the market. The complex is quiet and the gated parking makes me feel safe."
