"WONDERFUL PLACE! The rooms were immaculately cleaned. They provide beach chairs and beach towels so no need to worry about bringing those. The view and location to the ocean cannot be beat. We saw dolphins swimming by so many times. It was extremely quiet with many retirement aged folks, so while it was great for a couple, we likely wouldn't bring our 3 kids here. We had a full kitchen so we made ourselves breakfast to eat by the beach each morning. But beware of the great blue herron who will steal your food if you get up! He was a morning regular. This place is not located near any restaurants or activities, so while we didn't have our own rental car, we probably should have gotten one as Uber and Lyft were a bit expensive from this location."

"We returned to The Diplomat after a wonderful stay a year ago, and this time we brought our sons. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay, especially opening our door to view and listen to the waves of the gulf. The beach is steps from the door and the pool was warm and well maintained. The staff is always kind, and helpful in our accommodations. We appreciate the size of the rooms, the kitchen supplies, and the amount of privacy we experienced at The Diplomat. Hoping to return again and again."

"We visit Longboat Key every year. & We LOVE IT. Each year we venture out and do a little more. Our favorite activities from this year was biking around the island, playing Tennis at Bayfront Park and eating at the Lazy Lobster! The Diplomat is a wonderful, we actually loved it so much we have stayed there twice. Our condo is very clean and nicely decorated. Right on the beach (30 second walk). It is our home away from home. I hope this is a tradition we continue every year! Highly recommend. Please be sure to read up on the rules and regulations (smoke free island), that is how they keep everything so nice and clean."
