"Poor pricing communication. I had white smoke coming from my exhaust pipe when I start my car in the morning. He recommended I drop it off over night so he can see the nature of the smoke and let me know the next steps. He didn’t say or give me the impression he was going to charge for taking a look at it. Anyways, he charged $100 for diagnostics even though he didn’t actually scan my car systems like I am used to expecting in a typical mechanic diagnostic. I don’t have a problem with charging money. Just let new customers know upfront how much it will cost for looking into it so I can assess my options and decide. And if you didn’t talk about pricing earlier, just apologize, explain and keep it moving. But there was no apology for lack communication. I just felt like it was a waste of my time and would have gotten the same or better quality service for the same price at a car dealer mechanic."
