"It's a great campsite in dryer periods. Can get a bit wet and buggy during periods of rainfall. Natural beauty everywhere. The creek is great except loaded with downed trees, portages snakes and gators. It will take some work to make this trek passable though those willing to adventure will find the exclusive experience and natural scenery they seek"
"Beautiful campsite with a creek running through it. The trails are nice and covered by canopy’s. Well kept up forest as far as ive seen. We will be going here again. I did not get pictures of the actual campsite but here are pictures of the trails leading to it. Beautiful!"
"Creekside Primitive Camp can be reached by either trail, or kayak/canoe. It's situated under majestic, Spanish moss-covered oaks and very close to the creek. The Trail head is located near the first kiosk on Rucks Dairy Road, where there is parking. The main trail (yellow blazed) follows Reedy Creek (also known as Livingston), or a shorter (blue blazed) trail which starts at the same trailhead area and leads straight through the scrub. The creek trail is much more scenic as it winds with the creek and is approximately two miles to camp. Either trail you take will pass through a beautiful, cutthroat seep near camp. There is one picnic table and a fire ring but there is no water pump or toilets at the site. In the wet season the campground can be extremely wet so plan ahead. This is an amazing hidden gem in the Lake Wales State Forest and a great destination for primitive camping or a day hike. Reedy Creek can be accessed very near the parking area. This is a small and wild creek, and the levels vary greatly with the seasons and rain. It is usually a very challenging creek with many downed trees and at times very low water levels. Expect many portages. It is not for the unexperienced and could be dangerous if you aren't prepared. If you arrive by boat, there is a sign on the banks of the creek that signifies where the camp site is. You can exit the creek and head downstream and East to Lake Arbuckle. From there you can head North to the Polk County Campground where there is a boat ramp. Look for the floating fishing pier."
