"3/23 Good place to check out the snook fishing from the platform at the locks. Pretty cool to cross the walkway at the dam into the campground. Only issue is space for fishing at the platform, it gets crowded all day once it opens. Parking is good at the locks. Bathrooms and host at recreation area. Bathroom at the campground also. Lots of bass, juvenile snook, and catfish from bank fishing. Lots of gators and snakes around boat launch. Water hyacinth are manageable. Watch the boats as they enter and exit locks."

"Stayed 2 weeks. Could have stayed 2 months if they would let us. Watching the locks was interesting, but the otter families were so much fun to watch! Fishing is good here. Wide campsites and really clean bathrooms and laundry."
