Ocklawaha Prairie Restoration Area

"From the parking area I was thinking I chose poorly. In fact not till I got to the bridge. Then I fell in love !! Crossing over the bridge changed the hike completely. Wide open spaces giving you beautiful views. The trail was well maintained throughout most of it. Didn't see a lot of wild things but that's ok. Timing is everything."

"Gorgeous area to explore for birds, butterflies, gopher tortoise, and interesting flora. Can't wait to go again."

"Great hike. The Levee Loop is about 13 miles of flat terrain. In parts it is a bit soft and sandy, but was well drained after rain the previous day. It would be a great bike trail as well. A good amount of wildlife including 2 gators, lots of bits, and a cute little garden snake."
