"The Silver Springs Forest Conservation Area is a 4,900-acre wildlife management area located in Marion County, Florida, just minutes away from Ocala. The area was purchased in 2015 to protect water resources and natural areas close to Silver Springs. The conservation area is home to a variety of plant and animal life, including sandhills, scrub, and upland recharge areas for the nearby first-magnitude spring. The area is also a popular spot for hiking, biking, and birdwatching. There are two stacked loop trails (with a cross-trail on the upper loop) that provide options for hiking. The trails are a combination of new trails and old forest roads. There are benches at most intersections, and a picnic bench at a beauty spot under ancient live oaks. The Silver Springs Forest Conservation Area is a great place to enjoy the outdoors and learn about the local ecosystem. Learn about the local ecosystem"
"Saw no real hiking trails did see a black race parking leaves something to be desired not sure which direction to park... Trails although are roadlike aren't clearly marked looks great for bikes"
"Nature at it's best our favorite spot. Come with pants long sleeves some kind of a weapon and bear spray wouldn't hurt. Do not come by yourself or with a pet and bring water! . We have done this multiple times. Seen deer, otters, coyote, big otters by the families, A huge Bald Eagle in the path flapping its wings. Numerous hawks. We haven't seen a hog but we can see tracks. And the best was a very nice size bear crossing the path. So this is why I say a weapon or bear spray .....awesome place"
"Beautiful and secluded. Lots of wildlife, it's got a lot of waterways so watch out for gators and snakes! I am very happy that despite the lack of trash cans, I can walk my 5 mile lap without seeing any litter."
