Fanning Springs State Park
About the Business
Fanning Springs State Park, located at U.S. Highway 19 in Fanning Springs, Florida, is a popular tourist attraction that offers a refreshing escape along the Suwannee River. The park features a second-magnitude spring that produces 65 million gallons of water daily, providing a perfect spot to cool off on hot days and observe underwater wildlife such as musk turtles, bass, and manatees.
Visitors can enjoy picnicking under majestic live oaks, playing volleyball on the white sand court, and exploring a boardwalk through a cypress swamp with towering cypress knees. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, gray squirrels, and red-shouldered hawks.
Please note that the accessibility lift chair in the swimming area is temporarily unavailable as of July 26, 2023, and the spring is closed due to high river levels as of April 3, 2024. To protect the forests, visitors are asked not to bring their own firewood into the park, as the emerald ash borer infestation can spread through infested wood.
Whether arriving by boat from the Suwannee River or by vehicle from U.S. Highway 19, visitors to Fanning Springs State Park can enjoy a day of outdoor recreation and natural beauty in a serene setting.

"The cabins are highly recommended! Beautiful wrap around screened in porch on all of them. Very clean, well equipped with everything you need! The comforter was very comfy! Very small hiking trail and great swimming areas! Cute little state park. Would visit again!"
"I came when the river was really high so the water was brown and no swimming. But it's still a lovely park with good hiking trails."
"Absolutely gorgeous, very chill and cheap to get in. You pull in and park right next to the water, seems wheelchair accessible. Bathrooms are very clean and nice, there's a wash off station outside it too. Nice picnic and play area and short trails"
"Enjoyed this spring! Nice boardwalk along the Spring to the Suwanee River. Manatee swam right up next to me. Nice relaxing hiking trail. Picnic areas. Playground,Concession, and bathrooms."
"It only cost $6 a car to enjoy fresh water and sunshine. This spring has a 4 magnitude rating. It is clean and so are the bathrooms. The people I encountered were pleasant. There's a volleyball court and small playground area near the picnic tables which are spread out in a grassy area. The boats are able to access the spring but are limited to the river run. It has a large swimming area."
