"TOTAL RIPOFF!! Just purchased an Oring for $54. Identical on Amazon $9 plus 4 shipping, on ebay many less than $7 plus free shipping. Item CF9000F by Hayward. The very last time for anything."
"Proud to say this is my neighborhood Pinch A Penny. This location is so personable, the whole staff is very attentive and I always feel so welcomed every time I come here. Big shout out to Caulin and the young lady with the red hair for always educating me on my pool needs and maintenance. Thank you for all you do!! Lex Rosa Keller Williams Realty"
"In October 2023, my pool water movement was very weak. I asked the Pool Service Rep to clean my filter. He stated he cleaned it 2 weeks ago. I asked him to show me the filter, and he was unable to OPEN the lid to check the filter. He said, I needed a "service call". The Pinch A Penny Rep came out and showed me a plastic washer that needed to be replaced. I was charged $171.78 for a plastic washer that took 5 min to replace. WAIT it gets worse. I was out of town the following week and the Pool Service Rep STILL couldn't open the lid to check the filter because the REPAIR REP didn't bother to take a look at the filter. So, turns out the HANDLE is NOW stripped and I get CHARGED an additional $97.03 for a TOTAL of $268.81. I found out from another Pool Company that the WHOLE KIT cost LESS than $55!! AND takes 5 minutes to replace! When I spoke to the Pinch A Penny store owner, he NOT ONLY blew me off, he shared that he didn't care if I wasn't going to do business with him, AND that those were his prices!! But WAIT there's more .. he wouldn't give me his name and HUNG UP on me!! SO I had to go to Pinch A Penny corporation to get the Ownership details for the store located at 1330 Seven Springs Rd in New Port Richey, and it showed: Adrian and Valerie Rees Lic #CPC056874 So, I found out Adrian sold the business to his son, Garret. FYI, based on my personal conversation with Garret, his Customer Service Skills are NOT PLEASANT! I am a Google Guide reviewer and this is my first 1-Star Review, which was awarded due to EXTREMELY HIGH COST for products and the owners POOR and Careless lack of service. I added photos of the Plastic Washer and what the Whole Kit looks like."
"My husband and I used pinch a penny for about a year before we decided to cancel. For the first part of the year, we had a good experience with our pool boy, Sam. About half way through the year, they put Sam on a different route, and we had a terrible experience with the cleaners. However, the entirety of our time with Pinch A Penny, we experienced how poorly it was run on a management level, and we'd often have weeks skipped entirely, yet we would still be billed. We never got a heads up if they changed the day of the week they would be showing up, and they'd often arrive unannounced. I had to reach out countless times to get a partial refund for weeks completely missed. A few other issues we routinely encountered was our back gate being left (we have a dog) and our our pool filter filled with bugs and other things emptied right on our stepping stones/patio where we walk. We never felt our pool was as clean as it was the first half of the year. The second pool boy(s) were unfriendly and unprofessional. They made us feel like strangers at our own home. Also, it always seemed like our pool smelled WAY off. When I reached out to the manager he said it "looked fine" in the photos. However, when we switched services, the new pool company came and tested our pool and said that our chlorine levels were through the roof high. Mind you, we hadn't added chemicals for WEEKS. It was leftover from Pinch A Penny adding chemicals. Our first pool boy Sam was great. But as a company and as for the other pool cleaners they send out, I would recommend finding a different company."
"Amazing staff, always go above and beyond, we used to have a pool guy that took care of our pool, he retired so we decided to take care of our pool ourselves. The staff made it super easy for us to understand the chemicals when we should add, how much we should add. We went there not knowing anything about pool maintenance and with their help our pool looks amazing I would recommend them to anyone that has any questions about their pool!!! Amazing staff."
