Novotel Miami Brickell

"The location and relative youth of this hotel (built in 2015) are pretty much the only redeeming factors. Other than that, I found it completely ABSURD that when I brought leftovers back that I wanted to heat up later, I could not heat them up because the rooms do not come with microwaves. You have to pay $15 to RENT a microwave from them, which I was not going to do for just one leftover meal. Even if they don't want to supply a microwave to each room, they could at least put one in each of the ice machine rooms that are in the middle of the hallway. Another huge annoyance: the rooftop bar and pool were not opened during the hours that they said it would be. Myself and other guests got to the rooftop bar and pool at 9pm, which should have been fine seeing as the posted hours on both the door and on the flyer they give you at check-in say it is open until 10pm. But nope. It was dark and closed and I guess they figure the bar area at the lobby suffices but, like, the whole reason why people choose this hotel other than location is because of the VIEWS at the top floor bar. It just feels like false advertising. And I’m sure they’d say if asked that it was because of the weather, but nah, all of the rain had finished by the late afternoon so not an excuse. Lastly, if you try to call the front desk for ANY reason, don't expect an answer. I tried to ask the front desk a question by calling several times, only to go down to see that the front desk clerk was just chillin. And I won't even mention the $35 per night parking fee. To their credit, I saw no roaches or bedbugs, which are important to me when selecting a hotel. But everything else was wack."

"It’s hard to argue with the number of five star reviews, but my experience was anything but. Although the room was reasonably nice, my neighbour left their dog in their room. The dog was distressed with significant barking and scratching at the door. When I asked management to address the issue, they told me it was a “pet-friendly” hotel. IMO this is completely fine provided guests aren’t inconvenienced. After a second visit, management found me an alternative room. When leaving, the parking lass wouldn’t let me exit the garage. It look three trips to the front desk before anyone was able to resolve the issue - about 45 minutes of back and forth before I could leave for the airport. The staff seemed genuinely eager to help, and were friendly despite the circumstances, but very slow to act and seemingly unable to communicate with each other to resolve problems. It’s a good location and nicely appointed rooms for the money, but dysfunctional staffing."

"This hotel was very expensive, parking is not included. The food is expensive as well. Luckily for breakfast we had a very nice waiter that said if i wanted more eggs I could take some from the buffet (i only ordered a side of eggs due to the prices). One of the cleaning people also stole one of my mom's sleeping medications (she counts them because she had exactly enough for our stay - meaning she ran out before our stay was over). The walls are also extremely thin in the rooms, you can hear everything and everyone. This has the potential to be a nice hotel, but there needs to be changes."
