The Tampa EDITION

"Honestly you’ll spend $1100 per night to compete for even a space at the bar. The traffic surrounding the hotel was really a nightmare. Then you walk in to absolute chaos. People every where who aren’t staying in the hotel. Kids and teenagers running around everywhere. The hotel welcomes anyone no matter how raggedy they’re dressed. Every bar was SLAMMED with fans in hockey jerseys and getting into places was impossible for this reason. You aren’t able to even check out some of the bars on property if they’re at capacity. This place wants to pretend to be high end yet sets no boundaries for people paying the hefty price tag to stay here vs those who come in off the street from a sports event. I want to add that you’ll also hear music thumping beneath your room until 2 am but you aren’t able to get into those bars because they’re full of people not staying here….. $1100 should get you in any of the bars on property. A joke lol"

"The hotel itself is lovely, fantastic location but the rooms are relatively standard and service here is a major miss - also CHECK YOUR BILL. First, when we checked in and left our luggage with the bellman, after 30+ minutes the luggage hadn’t been delivered so went down to the front desk to ask about the delay, apparently the front desk had forgotten our room number which is why it hadn’t been delivered? It was straightened out and if this was the only miss, it wouldn’t have been an issue but then upon check out, we were double charged for a Pet Fee ($500). When we asked the front desk about it, the associate said “we must have caused damage to the room” with no further information. We knew that was impossible so we asked him to check with housekeeping, he did - house keeping hadn’t even been to our room, so obviously it was not due to any reported damage. He then acted like he was doing us a favor by taking off the double charge off of our bill with no apologies for the error. Also to note, gratuity is included on services at the hotel however, the server will not mention that when giving the bill. We always tip 20% which means we tipped 45% on our room service bill accidentally and when we mentioned this to the front desk, his response was “was it not on the receipt?” I am sure it was, however it is standard (especially at a supposedly 5 Star hotel) for the server to mention “gratuity is included” if it is. The lesson here, between being double charged and double tipping, read every line item of your bills at the Edition. With so many wonderful hotels in the Tampa/ St Pete area, we won’t be staying here again however the property itself is lovely so grab a bite or drink at one of the bars and skip the stay."

"Beautiful Hotel. Very comfortable beds and the room was perfect. The shower is probably my favorite part. They AMAZING shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that you can use while there but you have to pay to keep the bottle. Mini bar in the rooms. Plenty to do at the hotel. We attended an event in the ballroom which was so much fun and The food was delicious. The edition has multiple bars open to the public but the line to get in builds up quickly. Luckily since I was attending an event we didn't have to Wait to be let in."

"Very disappointed with this place! We came to their Rooftop Bar to get some drinks with a view...well, the view was the only good thing about this place. The drink selection was very poor and If I pay $36 for a drink, I expect to get something at least drinkable. Their espresso martini was pure vodka with a little bit of syrup, and I'm not even mentioning the terrible presentation. Also, I was surprised by the 20% fee for the pool. How is that connected to my drink? I don't mind paying a high price for good service and food/drink, but this place wasn't even close. 1 star only for the view."

"This place can be pricey but a great vibe. The hotel is beautiful. It’s a nice place to celebrate and have a good time. I would say expect a busy hotel. I wouldn’t recommend if you were coming For quiet relaxation. It can be loud at night and busy. I stayed here for a weekend to celebrate my birthday with 3 of my friends. We were able to check in early which was a plus. The front desk was super helpful at check in. The room was clean. We asked for extra towels and they sent them up right away. The clubs do get busy at night. The club was okay, it’s more standing and mingling. The drinks were good. The pool rooftop was busy but the workers were accommodating and able to find us seating! Location is good with a lot of food options in the hotel and near by. Would definitely come back."
