JW Marriott Tampa Water Street

"Leaves much to be desired in terms of the Marriott brand. Spa is NOT included in daily hotel rate, kind of shocking when this is a 4 star hotel. We tried to get into the spa mid day and were told there are "no more day passes" from a pretty judgmental spa attendant. The restaurant quality is weak (see other reviews in terms of poor food quality) and there is a long wait if you dont have reservations (maybe my fault, maybe not) We went to the standard Marriott hotel across the street and enjoyed their food and service progressively more. Overall not worth the $$$ and not worth the Marriott brand. The view was nice and decor modern, but this can be obtained at most hotels these days."

"This hotel is fabulous and worth every penny. I felt so pampered and well taken care of the entire stay. Valet parking is amazingly efficient and courteous. Housekeeping is absolutely wonderful. The restaurants on the premises and across the street at the standard Marriott were outstanding with delicious food and impeccable service. The spa is heavenly. The location is just perfect as well. It's a nice area that is steps away from the Riverwalk. The only negative thing I can say is that, to me, the mattress was hard as a brick. However, I completely understand that hotels buy firmer mattresses because they last longer so, although not as comfortable sleeping as I could have been, I was OK with it. Will absolutely be back to stay at this outstanding hotel."

"We are locals, and I brought my son to a lightning game. The roof was quite spacious and had a water view. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. He used the pool that evening and it is heated. We had room service after game and it was very good. The restaurant downstairs had a great breakfast. Great experience overall."

"This JW Marriott property did not disappoint. The check in was smooth, the staff was awesome and answered all of our questions. The location is ideal food, beverages and access to the Amalie Arena - only steps away. The rooms were very nice and modern. The view of the water and the city was great too. We will definitely stay here when we are in the Tampa area. Highly recommended."

"This was my first visit to the JW Marriott in Tampa and it is a great hotel!! Ashley did a great job checking us in and explaining everything. Valet parking was efficient and friendly. The upgraded room was awesome. We had only a short walk to the Amalie Arena to watch the volleyball matches. My only regret was not getting to stay longer! The concierge lounge was also well run and very welcoming. We also went up to the top floor to see Beacon before it opened and the staff was really nice and helpful. I wish I had time to enjoy all the outlets!!"
