Hyatt Place Tampa Airport/Westshore

"We recently stayed here for our anniversary. I am incredibly picky with hotels, as I am terrified of bed bugs. I hate carpet in hotels too. I do soooo much research before settling on a place. We arrived to check-in at 3pm, a card is needed for a $50 hold, which is refunded if you don't charge anything to the room. We got our room and I always wipe EVERYTHING down and check the beds/furniture. Everything was so clean already and no signs at all of bugs, previous bugs, or anything icky on the beds/bedding. Carpets were clean and the couch as well. They do a great job. We could see Raymond James stadium from our window. Everything was very close, airport, beach, food, mall, ect. The pool was really nice. The breakfast was good with a variety. The area is small but there is an extra room with seating. The staff were very helpful and kind. The only cons: if you are a soft sleeper the AC is a bit loud (there was some rust flaking around the bottom floor around it too but nothing that bothered us) The bed was comfortable but worn, my side felt like a dip in the mattress. May need a little updating in those areas. The pull out bed was in could shape though. With that said, we would absolutely stay here again and were happy with our stay."

"Stayed here this summer as it was close to the airport. We were severely disappointed by the many mishaps that occurred with our stay. The front desk was very nice and accommodating, but could only do so much. In our less than 24 hour stay, we had to switch rooms not once-not twice, but three times. The breakfast was very sad and the elevator was out of service. The pool was run down and full of leaves. Not a super family friendly place. The first room we were in had an AC unit that would not keep the room below 79 degrees. We were very hot in the Florida heat already, so no AC was a dealbreaker. The sheets also made me itch a ton. The staff switched our room no problem, but then the floor we got moved to had a plumbing problem. Whenever you flushed the toilet, it would not go down. There was no water pressure. Maintenance was unable to fix it and we ended up finding out it was a problem with the whole floor. We got moved again to a new room which had the same toilet problem. We had to use the toilet in the lobby for the rest of our stay. Not very convenient for a pregnant lady. Staff was great, facilities not so much."

"This hotel is by far a local favorite of mine! I absolutely love the area it’s in and the free breakfast. I have never had an issue here and enjoy my stays here every time."

"I could cover a lot here. The front desk staff was friendly as was everyone in the hotel. The cleaning staff in the room was so-so and didn't always do their best and didn't really seem to change anything. The pillows were horrible. Beyond horrible. The AC unit didn't always work well and sometimes it took 12 hours to get the temp to what I set it at. The unit was very loud and would kind of go on and off, even with the fan set to high. The curtains were an inch too short so the sun came in during the morning. The hotel overall was dated. The breakfast people stack the trash in the hall. The workout room 1st time I went was dirty. Next visit had no towels. It is a small workout area with very dated things. Location is good so another positive. The parking lot is a cut through for some uber drivers and they hangout around there, sometimes even smoking out back. Many nights they allow people to go through and shove a menu under your door, which raises security questions and no thanks I don't like having to clean up that trash too. My room was just dated in other ways too and the bathroom had a musty/moldy smell the whole time. Overall, it's a dated property that probably shouldn't be a Hyatt. I wouldn't stay again. Good location and friendly staff, but just not clean, dated, and yeah...Also, slow elevators and there was some drink spilled in the stairs that remained for a week. Again, they don't clean too well"

"Nice Hotel, staff tries hard. Morning breakfast is good. Place is slightly dated, but you really can’t complain. Workout room and washer and dryer were big helps."
