"The one star reviews are trolls. There's not a thing wrong with this place. It smells fine and looks fine and is very tidy. I'm a marriot bonvoy member and stay in these places all the time and it was very much on par with Marriotts standards. I appreciate the front desk accommodating my early noon check in at the last minute. However that may have been why another guest walked in on us having been issued a key to our room when they checked in. Oh well mistakes happen. It's still a fine place. Here are pics of the room. "We woke up after our first night with blood on our sheets. We found out from the exterminator called that the room had bed bugs. We were there for a soccer tournament. My wife had to miss the game and a trip to Universal with the team to wash clothes. The exterminator left our luggage in bags with chemicals to kill the bed bugs. We lived out of plastic bags for the remainder of our stay. No one assisted my wife in cleaning clothes. No service was called for us to aid us in cleaning our luggage etc. my son was ridiculed by other team members due to the bed bugs. We were moved to another room but felt very uncomfortable being there. We learned other rooms had bugs as well. We went home and stripped down naked in 20 degree weather and left all of personal items in the cold. My wife worked for days boiling and disinfecting items. The luggage was thrown out. There are other items such as clothes that were damaged. The hotel manager offered to pay for my wife’s michale loots coat that was destroyed by the washer machine and we have not received the check. I made a case with Mariot and first it was closed and they gave me 10k in points which equates to 120 dollars. I was treated like I did something wrong talked down to etc. I just spoke to another manager who says he will work to help me. There is no continuity in one person to speak to. I am giving it this last time and these reviews will be posted all over every trip site. This is no way to treat people that endured that experience. If those bed bugs got in to our house, it would be catastrophic and thousands upon thousands of dollars. I hope they do the right thing"
"I will not stay here again and DO NOT recommend. Rooms need a complete overhaul. The carpets in the room are filthy and smell musty. The bathrooms are very dated-the caulking is peeling off from around the toilet, tub needs to be refinished, etc. AC is full of dust. And I found a small dead roach in the bathroom both days of my stay. I do not blame the housekeepers as sheets appeared clean and room was tidy. It is just very clear that the owner of the property has not invested in any upgrades or done the appropriate maintenance needed to meet Marriot standards in a very long time. There was also NEVER anyone behind the "Starbucks" counter/bar and front desk staff didn't seem to care. Worst Marriot experience ever."
"I am still here for tonight and tomorrow. This hotel is just a step above a hostel. The rooms are outdated. Lobby is ok. Bathrooms in room are below average and although the style is below average that would be acceptable if they were clean. When we took our first shower there was hair on the wall. Immediately noticeable when opening shower curtain…clearly no one had cleaned in there. The second day we found a huge “water bug” in the shower. Manager offered 50 dollars off and free breakfast for next two nights. I ended up with 100 dollars off. Not the managements fault but they also don’t get NBC which is what the NFL playoff games were on. Additionally, the hot tub never worked and on last day pool area was completely closed."
"I stayed at this Courtyard last November to attend a friend's wedding in Lake Mary. I apologize for not remembering anyone's names, but I was thoroughly impressed and pleased with my stay at this property. On the morning of check-in, I sent a message on the Marriott Bonvoy app to ask if I could check-in early. I was very happy to get a prompt response the same morning. I needed early check-in so my partner and I could shower and dress up for the wedding. It really helped. As a Platinum Elite Member, I asked the employee working the front desk if I could have 4pm late checkout and it was granted. I was also given the $10 Food and Beverage credit benefit offered to Platinum Elites and up for a guest +1. The woman at the front desk when I checked in was also the same person who responded to my IM in the Bonvoy app. My apologies for not remembering your name, but thank you so much for your help! My room was very clean. I was surprised by the microwave and fridge in the room as I've never seen them at most Courtyards in the past, but it is a very much appreciated amenity! The housekeeping at this hotel does an excellent job of cleaning the rooms for guests upon check-in and I really appreciate their work for allowing my partner and I to check-in early. The only point of critique I would offer are to supply better coffee cups in the room. The ones I had bled easily whenever liquid was poured inside them. I don't know if it was the brand/type of cup that was used or if it was just a faulty cup. My coffee was leaking a bit into a small puddle on the desk after brewing it. For the Bistro in the lobby, there was and older woman and a younger woman taking orders. The orders didn't take too long to come out. I admired their persistence to keep guests happy as I saw their breakfast hours ended around 9:30am, but there were still guests that were ordering breakfast items and they still granted it. They burned the bacon for my partner's order, but graciously offered to make a new batch and I really appreciated their transparency. Overall, this is a great property. It meets all the expectations you would expect from a Marriott-branded hotel. I think it suffers from negative review recency bias and there's not enough people who've had good and great stays at this property who need to give it good reviews, because the staff at this property definitely deserves it and earned the kudos for their hard work."
