"We had a cat emergency on a weekend while visiting family and are very grateful for Baywood Animal Hospital. We were in a panic and the staff and doctor were excellent at seeing our cat very quickly, assessing the problem, and giving treatment options. Very professional and friendly!"

"Always available and made a prompt diagnosis when my dog had an ulcerated cornea which was missed by another vet. Got us a quick ophthalmology appointment and saved his eye. Highly recommend Baywood"
"I will start by saying my parents took our dog here for over a decade, but that was 30+ years ago, and based on my recent experience, I have to assume the same level of care they received has ceased to some degree. That being said, because my parents had a good experience, I decided to take my dog here for the past 2 years. I've never been overly impressed, but there was nothing inherently wrong with the service my dog had received until this past week. On 11/5 my dog started vomiting, but seemed okay. However, this continued on the 6th, and then I contacted the vet the morning of the 7th and was seen that afternoon. They gave me some medicine that would hopefully help the nausea and vomiting, and said they would let me know what the results of the blood work were the next day. They never called me back, so my wife contacted them on the afternoon of the 8th. They said overall the blood work came back normal, and to monitor her and try to get her to eat and drink. They didn't seem overly concerned even though she had lost more than 6lbs and was clearly not right. At this point, I was concerned, but I trusted their judgement. By 11/10, she was still not eating or drinking, and while she had stopped vomiting, she was extremely lethargic and I knew something had to be done. Clearly I was frustrated as I didn't feel they were giving adequate attention to the issue, but this frustration would only grow over the next few days. On 11/10 I called at 12:38pm to schedule another appointment and get to the bottom of the issue and reach a solution. I was told Dr. Cromer was not in but he would call me back. I never got a call back so at 5:42pm I called back and was told the note to call me back had somehow not been relayed. Clearly there was zero urgency to resolve this issue, even though they had been made aware of my dog being sick 3 full days prior. I explained that there had to be some kind of blockage and that X-rays were probably needed, but I shouldn't have had to push for this if proper care and attention to this issue had occurred prior to the 10th. Finally, X-rays were scheduled for Saturday morning 11/11 when it was determined there was a foreign body in the small intestinal tract that was causing obstruction. Once again, they exhibited zero concern and said they could give her additional fluids, but that they would be extremely surprised if by Monday (11/13) the object hadn't passed naturally. At this point, I have a dog that has been sick for a full week, and while I was trying to be proactive in figuring out what was wrong, it was clear the folks at Baywood weren't taking this issue seriously. Fast forward to 11/13 and my dog is still not eating or drinking and her demeanor completely deteriorated. So I called the vet once again and was told Dr. Cromer was not in, but that when he got back from lunch I would be called back. They literally never called me back, so last night I had to take my dog to the emergency room where they said exactly what I had known for days, which was that this foreign body was not going to pass naturally and that surgery to remove it would be necessary. Because this issue had been ongoing for a number of days, there was no guarantee that other and potentially more permanent issues wouldn't exist. All I asked was to be given proper attention to better diagnose the issue with my dog, and I was met with little to no urgency in the matter. The lack of timely responses and organization has led me to question their commitment to pet care, especially with more critical matters that require timely resolution. My dog is currently being prepped for surgery at a different vet and hopefully she'll end up coming out of this ok, but Baywood has lost a customer for life, and I will let everyone know that will listen to avoid bringing their pets here for veterinary care."
"What great doctor, and his assistant. Affordable, and Donna always fits you in with a emergency."
