"HarmonyCare has great clinicians (Nurses and Aides). However, the physicians ARNPs, office staff and Administration are in need of training in patient centered care, basic customer service, cultural competence, verbal de-escalation, conflict resolution, effective listening, critical thinking, and most importantly, "The Golden Rule"! If your family member requires anything above what is "usual and customary", you will find that HarmonyCare is unable to provide all of the care, therapies, education, resources and support they initially promised. Instead, they will softly suggest that another agency, maybe hospice, is more appropriate. That is after they've billed for as many "episodes" they feel Medicare will pay for, without questioning medical necessity. I recommend recording all telephone conversations and home visits!"
"I adore my dad's PCP and Nurse Practitioner that come to see him, but VPA has the worst phone staff. Everytime I have had to call to schedule and appointment for my father or confirm an appointment, I end up speaking to same rude and disrespectful scheduler. I have complained a number of times and her manager seems to believe her behavior is acceptable and places blame on the patient. It is a shame VPA allows for the first encounter a patient/potential patient has to be with someone with absolutely zero customer service skills, care or respect."
"Very disappointed in the office staff, doctors, and visits. If you are looking for a company who truely cares about the elderly, this one does not. We have been waiting a month for medical equipment very urgently needed with no follow up from office. The doctor is on vacation without concern of sending a replacement, writing prescription refills, and most importantly the health of the patient worsening. I do not recommend this office location."
"Worst service I have ever experienced! I can't believe these people claim to be in medical field. They are unresponsive and people that answer the phone are rude and make you feel as if you are an imposition. I have them because it's very difficult to get my parent out of the house to Dr and yet this company waits days to address results of chest X-rays in a 90 year old patient. I leave message after message to get help about coughing and dehydration and the only response I got (and it was rude) was "if it is so bad take him to ER" They are supposed to help prevent that. I'm surprised they have not been sued. This is not the first time I have had these issues. Really an awful company."
"I have a very difficult time getting in touch with anyone for anything. I send message after message on the patient portal with no response from the provider. When you call, you get redirected and go in circles. You are able to look at lab results on the portal but if there is something abnormal, no one calls you. You have to follow up yourself and still get nowhere. Very unprofessional. I don't know if they are short staffed or just don't care. Will be finding new providers. I cannot wait weeks for critical lab results or direction from a provider. They should do better. These are people's lives."
