"On Friday feb 9 I had an appointment scheduled for my dog for a bulb in his leg, but the day before he got sick, so when I took him to the appointment, the doctor recommended that I take some x-rays and do a few tests, they told me that I could leave my dog and pick him up later since it was going to take two to three hours for running the test. I left my dog at the vet, and after two hours I called and asked if there was any news about my dog's condition and if I could pick him up, the lady at the front desk picked up the phone and told me that she didn't know, that someone was going to call me in a moment to give me an update on my dog, after an hour without anyone calling me I called again, I explained again to the person at the front desk what was happening and that I would like to know if I can pick up my dog, to which she answers that she has no idea, but that the dogs they leave for drop off, they pick them up at 4:30-5, to which I answer that I can't leaving my dog at the vet for so long, for a procedure that they told me would take 2 to 3 hours, my dog is 11 years old, he is an old, nervous dog, he convulses when he has strong emotions, it was simply not viable for me to leave him there for so long, after I tell the lady at the front desk, named CHELSEA, that I need to pick up my dog, she tells me that it is my decision, but that the tests are not done, that if anything happen to my dog was under my responsibility, and then tells me that I was not able to understand her, so she was going to ended the call and proceeds to hang up the phone on me. At that moment I was on my way to work, I had to turn around and go immediately to the vet, so that someone could tell me what was happening with my dog, because clearly on the phone Chelsea, the one at the front desk, was not going to tell me anything. When I arrived to the vet, I asked her if she was the one I spoke to on the phone, to which she replied in a very rude way that she did speak to many people on the phone, I explained to her that I was the one with the little dog and she answers me in a bad way if I want to talk to the doctor or what. It seems to me the worst thing, that a person treats another like this, someone who is not going through the best time because they are clearly worried about their pet, my dog is part of the family, he has been in my life for eleven years, and this lady for her racism, she treated me in the worst way just for wanting to have information about my pet's health status, I have read that many people complain about the people at the front desk and it seems that they have not done anything about it, because they still have a rude, unfriendly and racist person at the front desk. If you have the opportunity to come to this veterinarian, don't take it, the doctors here are good and professional, but it is not worth having to go through this kind of situation with those at the front desk, just for an appointment."
"I originally started taking my dogs to this vet clinic when I first moved to Florida with my dog Cesar in 2018. I then had a Dalmatian puppy named Titus, who developed health issues and I thought I could take him here. They completely misdiagnosed him and kept pushing me to take him to a neurologist specialist because they “couldn’t figure out what was wrong with him” after charging me an INSANE amount of money for different tests. He had pneumonia. From Xrays that THEY took, another vet had to find it. The pneumonia got so bad I had to surrender my puppy to a rescue because I couldn’t afford to continue his care after constant negligence from this vet. I gave them a second chance since my senior dog was accustomed to the vet here. In February or 2023, my dog suffered a heart episode. I toook him to companion for his 6 month check up in JULY and they ran blood work, panels, all of the different tests, & he was completely healthy. In September, Cesar fell completely ill and stopped eating. I took him to the vet closest to my home and was informed my dog was in stage 3 almost stage 4 kidney failure. Which means this Vet clinic should of detected it in July in his early stages of his kidney disease. After I had to put my childhood dog down, this vet had the AUDACITY to state they were going to automatically without my consent reinstate the stupid monthly plan for my dead dog. When I called them I asked them respectfully to take me off the plan. They insisted I called another location when I knew they could cancel it from there because it was provided in the email. I had to even state that due to their negligence my dog was put down. They emailed me and canceled my plan. I was ready to move on, & leave this clinic behind me until my mother received word that they were going to cancel HER dogs plan (A DOG THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME) due to me appearing in person to “insult them” and “being problematic” when I haven’t stepped foot in this clinic since JULY. You do not deserve any of your licenses. You do not deserve to take care of others pets. I hope the veterinarians get all the karma they deserve for the negligence they have given to my babies and the loss I had to go through for TWO of my pets."
"We are extremely grateful to have found Animal Clinic of Wekiva. The quality of care shown to our pet was superb!!! The vet, assistants, and staff were all very caring, knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. The office is welcoming, sparkling clean and offers accommodating scheduling and reasonable pricing. Highly recommend!"
"We were recommended this vet by my close friends who have been coming for years, due to us needing to find a new vet when our 8 year old aussie was diagnosed with leukemia. Although we lived by this pet hospital for many years we only used them one time due to an injury with our puppy. When we called them last week, they were very kind and helpful and willing to get us an appointment asap for our dog Zack to be seen as his condition was worsening. Sadly, Zack did not make it to his appointment, but when I called (the morning of his appointment) they were very understanding and gave their condolences for our loss. Even though Zack was not a patient seen regularly at the clinic, Companion Care still sent a very sweet, heartfelt letter from each of the techs and vet. It was very unexpected as we did not get to bring Zack there , but shows how caring they really are. We appreciate Companion Care during this time of loss and will definitely be coming here for our other dogs regular veterinary services going forward. Best place around and truly care for your animals."
"I recently brought my cat Mina here, and while the outcome was not what I had hoped, the staff that helped me was incredibly kind, and thoughtful. I found them because I needed a vet that was open late, and had drop off appointments available. I didn’t know what to expect, and the humans who helped me blew me away. Thank you for all you do, for all the animals you help, and for your compassion. You are truly appreciated."
