Reviews
"It is hard to summarize how deeply my time with Tracy Hanlon as a therapist has impacted me. We all have times in our lives where we feel lost, depressed, anxious, like we can't catch a break or we're standing in our own way. I had been going through a dark time and seen several therapists, and had been prescribed different combinations of SSRI's and other antidepressants but nothing was working. Meeting Tracy Hanlon was a breath of fresh air, she is completely different from any other mental health professional I'd seen. She is both kind and understanding; her training in depth psychology allows her to figure out what's troubling you even when it's hard to put into words. Throughout the time I've seen her I never felt judged or like there was something wrong with me, just consistent progress in my life. I couldn't recommend Tracy Hanlon enough, especially to anyone who has struggled to find the right therapist for them."
"I spent nearly two years and close to 100 hours under Tracy’s care and supervision. I hope others will proceed with caution after reading my review. She is a very nice woman who runs a very pretty practice. While I did make great progress in my physical well being with her supervision, her counseling practices are unethical. I have spent nearly 4 years recovering from the trauma that having a professional relationship with her caused me. Since then multiple other counselors have questioned me and suggested I report her to the board. While I do not feel the need to go that far, I have finally found the courage to write this review to help bring closure to my experience. I have found and felt that she gets very emotionally enmeshed with her patients (more than just myself) to a point where it actually harms well being and progress both to her patient and herself. She also shared too much information about herself and the others she treats. I’m not educated enough to understand if she violated Hipa or not. I do know all this information she shared made my own personal healing even more challenging. Additionally she refused to give out official diagnosis’s other than ptsd which I am grateful for, though behind closed doors I felt she would use unofficial diagnosis’s as a means to manipulate and control my behavior to benefit her by me into staying in her care. She also kept insisting that “white lies” are an acceptable form of communication between two people as a mean to protect ones self and that her own lack of professionalism with time management was my problem to overcome and something I needed to accept and over come. Fortunately I was aware enough that this was her projecting and utilizing our relationship to help herself heal. Since my time with her I have since discovered that I am on the autism spectrum and am able to see the patterns and influences that occurred previously. Her behavior and own lack of executive functioning skills I feel was abusive to someone with autism spectrum disorder and that there was no reason for her to not recognize it. I am still working to forgive the abuse and move past all the verbal trauma and abuse that occurred under her guidance. I do not recommend Tracy Hanlon as a counselor. Though if you need a paid best friend, tennis pro, fitness advisor, or date to a formal event she’s great. And for that I’ll give her two stars instead of one."
"Tracy Hanlon is an outstanding professional and has changed my life for the better in many aspects. I never imagined the depths of understanding I would reach working with her and the ability to carry forward with those discoveries to make healthier choices at my own pace. Here is really something special that takes place when you work with someone who is as caring, compassionate and has such an understanding of the mind and human nature. My only regret in meeting Tracy is that I did not meet her sooner. I am very grateful that people like her do exist in the field of psychoanalysis. Tracy has opened my eyes to a whole world of understanding of myself and how to apply it. I am forever indebted for the chance I’ve had to work with her."
