"I most certainly agree with the comments made by SWFL Reports. If you're looking for a Dr. to do an evaluation and testify to the court, my suggestion is to find another Dr. I'm in the middle of a custody battle and was ordered to have an evaluation done with Dr. Hansen Cohen for PTSD. During this time something happened within my family that caused a trigger for me. I emailed Ms. Hansen Cohen about the situation. I did not get a response. Instead, she sent a letter to the court stating that I sent her a "barrage of emails." I can tell you, there was no barrage of emails. I sent two emails within a two week period I believe, so I guess she considers that a "barrage." But the most disturbing part is here she is, a psychologist, and she could not see that the email I sent, notifying her of the situation could have merely just been caused by a trigger? I certainly wasn't rude or unprofessional, not in the least. I was merely apprising her on the matter. I'm no expert but my guess is that any really good Dr. would be much more understanding, especially when it comes to our veterans, PTSD, and triggers. Dr. Hansen also stated that I was dictating to her as to how the evaluation was to be done, which also was not true. My attorney and I both had no idea that her evaluation would require me to spend the money to buy a plane ticket, let alone the time that would take a few days of travel to go see her in person. Ms. Hansen Cohen also wanted to interview members of my family which was fine. However, my grandmother had just passed away and it caused a lot of strife in our family, even between me and my mother. I let Ms. Hansen Cohen know that it might not be the best time for her to talk to my mother given the circumstances. So, given that, Ms. Hansen Cohen went out of her way to let the court know I was dictating how the evaluation be done. After this, I emailed Ms. Hansen Cohen, thanking her for going out of her way to make me look bad in front the of the court and told her I would be leaving her a review. And take a wild guess what she did with that.... She emailed the court again saying I was threatening her. No joke. So I sent her another polite email with the court and both attorneys included asking her to send us all a copy of this alleged threat. You guessed it, no response. I'm no Dr. but in my opinion, this is not in the least bit of a professional practice to have a licensed psychologist go out of their way to try to make things harder for you than they already are, and to a veteran no less. We shouldn't have to come back home to be treated like this by the very people we were sent to defend. Again, it is just my opinion, but I believe that any licensed psychologist in this field could at least try to be a bit more understanding of our veterans and quite frankly, with anyone in general. At the very least, some patience. Life is tough enough as it is, this isn't why doctors become doctors. But when a "doctor" goes out her way to tell the court you threatened her, that's just a whole new level of pure awesomeness. Thank you Dr. Hansen Cohen!"
"This professional is thorough, but it takes time to see the whole picture. Stick with her if you really want to get better. If you are only concerned about getting your way and being controlling, I suggest you move on. I am thankful for her professional guidance no matter how this case turns out. May God bless and protect you, Dr. Hansen."
"There aren’t enough great things to say about Dr. Hansen-Cohen and her incredible team. From the moment you arrive, Crystal makes you feel right at home and is incredibly hospitable. Dr. Hansen-Cohen is inspirational to work with, her passionate approach combined with her intellectual drive to see her patients succeed provides an experience surpassed by none. Having had the pleasure of having Dr. Hansen-Cohen on many cases over the past decade as an Expert Witness has been an amazing experience. She has somehow found the strategy to both manage litigants and their emotional needs and yet still provide the synergy and team driven focus to accomplish extremely detailed and well founded reports and testimony. In addition, she had proven herself time and time again to be a champion of the mediator role of which she brings a vast wealth of information and strategy from her work in psychology to focus on the bigger picture and what’s best for the families as they navigate through crisis (divorce, paternity, relocation matters). As if all of these incredible traits weren’t enough, Dr. Hansen-Cohen is dedicated to giving back to the community and volunteers for numerous organizations, is one of the most respected professionals in her field and yet is so down to Earth and personable that she’s never too busy to pick up the phone and offer helpful suggestions when I find myself in peril. It’s my honor to give her the highest possible recommendation as it has been with great pleasure to have had the incredible opportunity to work with such an esteemed professional in what is often a very chaotic and challenging area of law.
