"I have been seeing Karen for about 5 years off and on. Karen has helped me both personally, as well as with couples sessions involving my very dysfunctional extended family issues. She is always attentive and sheds a lot of very good insight as to helpful ways to cope with whatever we are experiencing at the time. She helps me to see things in a totally different perspective, and is a wonderful ear actively listening to my concerns. I have had nothing but positive outcomes by seeing Karen, and my marriage has benefited greatly with her professional insight. I would highly recommend Karen Berner Arcuri!"

"I would not recommend this therapist. The Gottman methods and theory can be a powerful communication tool for couples but this therapist has book knowledge grasp only and is not prepared to manage a couple in crisis. Goals of therapy should include being able to share ones feelings without shaming or blaming the other partner. Giving a partner a chance to share what is in their heart and respond to heart sharing in a way that could have a positive impact on the relationship whether it stays intact or dissolves. This therapist was unable to guide or sessions with these goals. The sessions ended with blame from my spouse directed at me (he is experiencing untreated PTSD, and suffering the grief of his fathers death) and heightened emotion leaving me feeling attacked and raw with no intervention from the therapist and no accountability required from my husband. She is woefully unengaged or emotionally disconnected from her clients. Honestly, seeing her did more harm than good."
