"Awesome counselor! Highly recommend!"
"I spent approximately three months attending one of his programs. Absolutely horrible. For starters, you know there is a problem when multiple attendees of the class end up in arguments with him in class, accusing him of false allegations against them to outside sources. In those three months in a once per week program, I witnessed five participants get in arguments with him in class, accusing him of making statements behind their back to outside sources that weren't true. I experienced this myself as well, which I will delve more into in a bit. Secondly, kiss your self-esteem goodbye once you meet with him. He will expect you to accept 100% responsibility for every single thing that has ever gone wrong in your life. Been raped? Paul will want you to figure out what *you* did that caused it to happen. He doesn't seem able to grasp simple concepts like "cause and effect" and seems oblivious to logical fallacies such as "false dichotomy." He also focuses on the negative. He starts his meetings out with wanting to talk about violence in the news! Rather than focusing on constructive behaviors, he expects you to focus on the negative, dwell on it, convince yourself that every single negative thing in your life is 100% your fault, etc. The program he provides has certain guidelines, which he repeatedly brags in classes he "doesn't need to adhere to because he started doing the program before those guidelines." After speaking with other providers, I found out that is not true at all. One of his biggest issues is that he misses class at least 1/4 of the time and does not provide make-ups, despite the policy for the program he provides. Another huge issue with this individual is he violates HIPAA laws. He will provide outside sources information about you (filled with assumptions, straw-man attacks, etc.) and will refuse to give you copies of that documentation! If he has done this to you, I strongly advise you file a complaint at hhs.gov. Just do a Google search for "hipaa file complaint florida" and you'll find the page. One of the worst things in my opinion was that when he is focused on a particular topic, he states time and time again that if you don't have a particular experience you can think of where that topic applied to you, "stretch" a situation so that it does. So, he states that if you can't blame yourself for a problem, make something up so that you can!!! Then, he will go ahead and submit these "stretched" stories he forces you to make up to outside sources! He is supposed to be helping people, but instead, all I witnessed was him bringing people down. DO NOT let him do this to you!!!"
