"My twins are his patients and we absolutely love Dr. P in the Atlantic office. I don’t mind the wait because he makes it up in also giving my kids the same attention as the child before mines. He is very knowledgeable. Urgent care said ear infection but he was able to look at my baby girl and immediately tell it’s strep. He really knows what he is talking about and I trust his judgment 100% and that’s not easy to get from me. The front end could use a little more training but they are super sweet. He is amazing!"

"Dr. Peña-Ariet himself is great, but I can’t deal with his referral staff anymore. My son has an autoimmune disease and his life depends on him seeing these specialists. We had an appointment this morning (8/4/23) and asked for a referral for his upcoming endocrinology appointment (8/17/23). Anyone who deals with Nemours specialists know that appointments can be hard to come by. The staff over referrals didn’t seem to care that we had an appointment in two weeks, she said she wouldn’t even get to it for another 3-4 weeks. This is while Dr. Peña-Ariet standing right there. I called Nemours from the parking lot to find out exactly when his referral expires. We still have time on the referral, but apparently he’s been being seen under his old PCP’s referral from over a year ago. We’ve requested referrals since then from Dr. Peña-Ariet’s office since my son started seeing him in August of 2022. Nemours stated they have NEVER gotten one from his office. The office where his old PCP was (who had retired and we left due to scheduling issues) had kept doing them out of courtesy. I have already called his insurance changed to change his PCP and make a new appointment. Being a referral and authorizations coordinator myself, this is absolutely unacceptable. I will go somewhere where we can get the resources we need. I do hope that Dr. Peña-Ariet can get the office support he needs."

"The best doctor in Jacksonville! He was my pediatrician as a young girl. Now he's the only person I'd bring my daughter to. Very trustworthy and cares about children more than anything. Highly recommend!"

"I dont know how to get anyone in this doctors office to actually listen to me. I mean you can honestly repeat your concerns 4 times and still be ignored. Dr. Pena-Ariet seems to forget my daughter is undergoing testing for being on the spectrum at each of our appointments. We've been seeing him for over a year and he tries to give me the autism talk at every single appointment. Like he just totally forgets the speech/ occupational therapy, early intervention, and developmental neurologist referrals he's given us? I don't get it. He's seen my daughter at least 20 times and hasn't bothered to get to know her just a little bit. He also doesn't have much patience and can be a little rough. I don't know what's the point of having business hours if they're only going to use an "urgent" answering service. We're getting over charged a lot too- I'm forever disputing it with my insurance."
