"Very knowledgeable and professional. Dr. Gutierrez took a risk and accepted me as a patient... Late in the 2nd trimester. As a high risk mother, he was kind, patient and very well informed. He is calm naturally which kept me calm. The potential risks during the pregnancy and birth were minimized because of his professionalism and pleasant disposition."

"I just did a Google search to see if Dr. Gutierrez was still practicing, so I could refer him to a friend, and I'm a little amazed to see some of these comments. 17 years and 9 months ago, I gave birth to a preemie who was in distress. That child is alive because Dr. Gutierrez was so vigilant during my pregnancy. I went into premature labor, bleeding, way before my son would have been able to survive, and I called and he told me to meet him at the hospital, he was there before I was. I was given medication to stop the contractions and I was kept for a couple of days, and then put on bedrest (he actually wanted me to stay in the hospital the rest of my pregnancy, it was me who stupidly demanded to go home). I had to have an ultrasound weekly at that point. I went into premature labor several other times, St Joseph staff knew me well, lol. He was born prematurely, after I was rushed to the hospital when when of those weekly ultrasounds revealed he was upside down, backwards, cord around his neck, and in distress. Dr. Gutierrez was not sure if my child would make it through birth, but was extremely comforting, personable, and reassuring. That kid just finished his junior year of high school and is making plans for college. Dr. Gutierrez, at my first post-birth appointment, thanked me for trusting him, I was one of the more difficult pregnancies he'd dealt with. I thanked him for being that person I could trust. You want a good doctor? You've found one. You want office staff to treat you like a princess, then, yes, go somewhere else, I'm sure everyone will appreciate it. (And just a note, I now go to a different GYN only because I am menopausal, and wanted a menopause specialist because all my hormone issues that likely caused the premature birth still remain.)"

"Horrible place do not ever go! Dr. Gutierrez strung me along for months taking my money and given me wrong diagnosis. My last straw was when he told me I could possibly be pregnant outside of my uterus, when he never even did a ultrasound, pregnancy or a blood test on me. I informed him I would like to have my documents sent to my new doctor. He went ballistic on the phone yelling at me and disconnected. Take your hard earned money & go somewhere else."

"I will never switch gynecologists again. I completely disagree with the previous reviews complaining about the front desk clerk being rude when you, as the patient, don’t show up with things you need for every doctor appointment. Dr. Gutierrez’s staff was very kind and helpful. I had been turned away from Tampa Family Health clinic, and USF women’s health (three times) because they continuously failed to request authorization. I called Dr. Gutierrez’s office and explained the pain I was in and my circumstances. They saw me last minute - AS A NEW PATIENT - with a very strict HMO insurance plan. I had my referral transferred to their office as I sat in their waiting room. Dr. Gutierrez himself was very welcoming, kind, informative, and treated me with a level of respect you don’t see from many doctors. He was very personable. He took his time with me, which made me confident that this doctor was eager to make sure his patients don’t feel like they’re being treated by a stranger. He explained several options to address the medical issues I’d been facing, answered all of my questions, and I left feeling MUCH better, reassured, and relieved of both the pain and stress I’d been dealing with for months. I left this office feeling like I have been seeing this physician for years. Thank you, Dr. Gutierrez! I will be coming back!"

"The nurse Becky was great... But the front desk girl was rude. I didn't have my insurance card and she was really really nasty about it. These offices fail to realize that it starts from the front all the way to the back with the patients perspective on the office. I won't ever come here again just because of her."
