"Dr Martinez et al are awesome, they go above and beyond and the whole staff are friendly, professional and kind."
"I became a new patient in the summer and have met several of the providers since my time as a patient, I can’t thank this practice more for their efficiency, timeliness, and kindness. I’ve had a list of several health issues for years that have been passed off all the way up until coming to the practice where I found I was actually heard. Wish I could give 10 stars."
"Summary: You can get prescriptions here, just know what you need when you show up. Staff is very friendly. However, for a reliable primary care, look elsewhere. I have been coming to this office for about 8 years, and right now I am not sure why. Dr. Alvarez recently retired. The vacuum has meant that throughout the pandemic I have rarely seen the same practitioner twice, and quality of care has been pour. But even before he retired, I have failed to receive proper treatment at this facility many times, often needing to see a specialist to get the correct medication and treatment. Frequently my visit here, was just to get a prescription or recommendation to see a specialist to satisfy insurance. Recently I have had to move to "self pay" and this has been a problem at the office. High prices and poor primary care performance means self pay is hardly worth it here. The office is inconsistent with billing, and refuses to provide explanation for why office visits can be retroactively billed at a higher rate. I am being asked to pay more, even after having already paid at the time of visit. This is allegedly because I received a higher level of care. Although by my perspective the level of care is identical and fairly minimal. If absolutely need a PCP for your insurance you can get that here. If you need a prescription medication, and you have an idea what is needed, they can prescribe it here. If you are looking for physician you can see consistently, and create a good long term healthcare plan, I recommend you look else where. Update: after an arduous review I have finally been informed that routine bloodwork and chronic conditions, each warrant a higher cost per visit. So if you need continuous care you will be charged at a higher rate at this facility. Because the path to obtaining this information from the organization was also long, tedious and painful I can't recommend this medical facility to anyone in good faith. You are better served elsewhere. I feel you are likely to be in worse health and in worse financial position if you trust this facility with your healthcare."
"This office is normally good however over the last couple weeks they have been understaffed. When they are understaffed they do not get back to you in a timely manner when you request something urgently. This week I have had to go to Teladoc twice in order to get prescriptions because they have no available appointments. I’m not impressed by this at all and I am actually really disappointed because I thought this location was really good. I’m diabetic and needed insulin and also I have severe asthma and needed steroids. They couldn’t work me in. So I’m finding another doctor until this doctors office can be fully staffed again. It’s not worth the headache."
"I've been with them since 2018 and have been with UF for 2 pregnancies as well and a surgery, they know me well and have my records. I am having issues with the Dr/nurse practitioner Culni refilling my thyroid medication. Without it, I suffer serious lethargy and symptoms of severe depression, I won't go into specific details. I've suffered with hypothyroidism since age 11 and it was undiagnosed for 2 years by my then pediatrician family doctor who wouldn't listen to my mom about her concerns with me; I suffered a lot and I take this very seriously. Last month she notified me that I need to make an appointment and get blood work. I did. I got a babysitter so that I could go to labcorp the next day. I also called the office and got the soonest available appointment, which wasn't until 1.5 months ahead, November 1st. Last months medication she refilled with 'no refills: call 24 hours prior' and so I assumed because I did what she asked, she would refill it no problem, because she sees my lab work. But I call walmart today to get my prescription after requesting a refill yesterday, and walmart says that my provider DENIED my refill. So I am supposed to go without it until November 1st, even though they have all of the proof that I'm really hypothyroid, and that they have my current blood work from 1 month ago? That is not healthCARE. I called their office today and the man on the phone seemed like he really didn't want to be there and was not helpful at all. I am really disappointed. If this was somewhere that didn't have any of my records/I've only known them for a short time, then OK. But I've been to UF doctors several times in the past year for in person appointments. They have done testing and bloodwork, they have been healthCARE providers. Unfortunately I really think this office is lacking in care and communication. I was always so appreciative of them, as they have seen me through a miscarriage, a healthy pregnancy, an asthma diagnosis etc but I really believe they have put me in a hard place right now. If they knew they weren't going to refill my medication this month because their appointments are too far out, then they should have been clear with me last month so that I could find a different practice. But through the messages they made me beleive that I needed 1)an in office appointment scheduled 2)bloodwork done; which I did last month. I will change this review once they have gotten back to me and communicated their reason for my thyroid medication denial, but until then, I'm forced to go to urgent care to explain the situation and get a refill, or start with a completely new practice that cares and understands."
