"Staff was abusive towards our son!!! That was the summary but if you are interested in the details I will explain. Our son is very hardheaded and extremely energetic, so I understand the frustration when you ask him to sit down and he runs around like a mad man. Or if you tell him to line up to come in from outside he runs away from you. I deal with it daily. That does not give his teachers the right to grab his arm in such a way that it leaves bruises. Which is the case when we enrolled him in C&J. This was not his first daycare and with other daycares we did not have issues with our son bruising on his forearms so we know it was due to the teachers handling of him. We reported this to the director several times and even had a sit down with her to express our concerns. However, none of these steps improved on the bruises our son came home with. The final straw was when his teacher went on a one week vacation and the bruises stopped. We noticed this and told the assistant director. The Monday his teacher came back we noticed marks on his arms again. Then the next day that same teacher 'Staged' a video of our son being upset, throwing a piece of paper and slapping her on her back arm. I say 'Staged' because the video was about a minute long and shows no context of why he was upset. Also, he only started acting out when he noticed he was on camera. He thought it was some kind of game so he posed like he was going to smack her and held that pose for like 4 or 5 seconds. Not once did she say 'NO' or attempt to calm him. If anything she was inviting it just to get him in trouble. My opinion is she set it up to retaliate against her getting in trouble for leaving marks on him. Right after that we got a phone call from the director stating that our son was being suspended for smacking his teacher on the arm. Our son has been to 3 different daycares and has never had any issues with hitting. In fact he has never been in trouble for any kind of aggressive behavior. and this was the first time he had gotten into trouble at this daycare. They did not give him a warning or a timeout or anything. Automatic suspension. What upset us the most and what caused us to withdraw our son from this daycare is after months of us reporting bruising to our sons arms, no actions were taken to stop the harm. All it did was make our son a target. This time it was just a 'Staged' Video and a suspension but what happens next time? His teacher was already mistreating him, now that he is on her radar we were sure that he would be treated even worse and singled out again and again. No matter how energetic or excitable a child is they never deserve to be manhandled in such a way that it leaves bruises. And the Directors handling of the situations showed us that retaining her staff was more important than the wellbeing of the children in her care. *I Need to Edit out our child's face and I will post the bruises and the video mentioned above*"
