"Dr. Alavi was professional but not very friendly. I don’t feel like he got a good understanding of my issue and didn’t take the time to connect with me as a human being. He gave me a very quick and cursory evaluation. He did not ask for my input on what kind of care I wanted. For instance, I did not want any steroids or muscle relaxers and would have preferred to be shown exercises and other techniques (posture, sleeping positions, etc.) that would help me with my pain. There was no explanation of why I was experiencing what I was experiencing, or what activities to avoid or for how long. I was in quite a bit of pain during the visit and this was not acknowledged in any way by the doctor or staff (other than to prescribe me pills that I won’t take). It wasn’t a good experience and I reached out to a different service to get a second opinion once I left."
