Reviews
"I have called several times for the past three days and left a message on the first day. I have received no communication from the office. Based on that and the reviews I'm reading here, I'll be looking for other options."
"Sadly I did not pay attention to the negative reviews because the two women who work for this doctor and run the office for scheduling are so kind and sweet. I wish they both worked for another doctor office because sadly Dr. Fady Ashamalla is a poor communicator and extremely confrontational if you ask him questions for further detail durring your appointment. If you ask him to explain inconsistencies in what he is recommending for your health from one appointment to the next because you need a greater understanding of what is happening with your medication and health he shuts down completely and becomes a bully. He refuses patients he has seen for several months that have trusted his work and followed all his medications exactly as advised. I brought another party on the appointment call because I felt I was being attacked and mistreated and was having a hard time advocating for myself because I was blind sided in his approach as I felt unsafe. He was refusing to listen to my concerns and I was upset that he was not only neglectful in his responses but the inconsistencies did not make sense as when I would speak he would respond with something not related to what I was asking. The third party also had the same issue as Dr. Fady Ashamalla refused to answer his patients questions or provide any explanation about the medications he was issuing. Inconsistent feedback from one appointment to the next when issuing drugs that alter someones mental health is very dangerous and I am truely saddened this is how care under this doctor has progressed. Just because someone is seeking help for mental illnesses does not mean you can be disrespectful to patients or gas light them. Refusing to answer serious questions and concerns expressed durring a appointment is a huge red flag! I trusted the wrong doctor and am now in a worse mental state then when I started this journey several months ago. It makes me sick to my stomach that I made the wrong decision allowing this doctor to treat me as at first I truely felt he was knowledgeable and helping me. I fear I cannot trust any doctors now because I am so scared I will be dismissed and refused service simply because I may need further explanation and conversation about the doctors plan for my care. I was repeatedly dismissed and ignored durring the last appointment and the doctor was so unprofessional with his responses to simple questions that it escalated resulting in suffering a full anxiety attack and break down. He repeats over and over and demands you take a refund for the appointment and see another doctor and accuses his patient of something they never even said as I still have no answers to the questions I was asking him. I do not fully understand what happened still as I never exspected this from a doctor I thought I could trust. The only way I can understand his behavior is he was offended in me advocating for myself and instead of being professional he lashed out because his ego was offended because I had questions that he kept avoiding. I guess in a way I am glad he showed his true nature and skills as a doctor as I do not want someone like this giving me the wrong prescriptions but I am scared he will treat others with similar health issues with such neglect. I doubt I will survive this illness much longer as it is clear there is no help or diagnosis available. Please do ample research about who you trust with your mental health, maybe find a referral from someone you know personally in your life. Even if just one person uses this review to seek another doctor for their care then I feel that is one more step in the right direction to help those in need like myself. This doctor failed this particular patient, me, tremendously. If someone takes time to read this thru I am truely so sorry for whatever it is you are going thru that brought you here. Please be strong and I hope you can find better help."
"I was referred to Dr. Ashamalla. I called to schedule an appointment and was told I would be called back. After 2 weeks of waiting, I called to find out my status. I was told that my case had been rejected due to the medicines my current Dr. prescribed. I have been trying to change and get off of these medications but Dr. Ashamalla nor his staff communicated with me at all to find out anything about me. I have been in the mental health care system for 25 years and this is by far the most unprofessional doctor I have come across. Doctors are here to help us, not reject us without any notification or without speaking to a potential patient. There are many great doctors in the area, avoid Dr. Ashamalla."
"Dr. Ashamalla is a good listener and has the knowledge to deliver quality care. For example, he lays down the options/risks and recommends the best option for long term health and why one's body would agree. Part of the staff is Joyce. She is also wonderful and always manages to keep me updated when I can't be reached."
"This office visit by far had to be one of the most insulating experiences I have ever encountered. The front receptionist Joyce lacked a sensitivey chip, and professionalism. And as far as the Doctor, he never even came out to meet and greet me. Would NEVER recommended this doctor to anyone."
