The Turmeric Kitchen

"First of all, let me just say that the owner warmly welcomes you as soon as you step inside. The atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking, and they've even added soothing rain sounds to the music playlist - it's like a dream! And let me tell you, the food there is out of this world! It not only tasted amazing, but it also left me feeling satisfied without that heavy, bloated feeling that I usually get when I go to other restaurants, especially burger joints and such. On Valentine's Day, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try, and boy, were we in for a treat! We ordered a variety of dishes, including hummus, hariyali chicken, lamb saag, goat curry, and to quench our thirst, cardamom lassi and mango lassi. Every single dish was mind-blowing, and the meats were so tender, it was like they were melting in our mouths! The only tiny disappointment was that they still haven't started serving kombucha on tap. But that's just a minor thing compared to the overall amazing experience. Oh, and did I mention the sweetest gesture? The owner actually gave out chocolates to everyone as a little Valentine's Day treat. It was the cutest thing ever! I would like to share my thoughts on the service. Just a heads up, it might take a little longer to receive your food. But you know what? It's totally worth the wait! They prepare everything from scratch and you can really taste the passion and dedication they put into each dish."

"We came for lunch and had the fabulous baked gobi (cauliflower), but we were completely blown away with the chicken biriyani. Amazing depth of flavor and aromas. Service was friendly and professional. So nice to have Indian food closer to home."

"Quaint little place when you walk in. Music and flowing water sounds leant to a relaxing atmosphere. Our waitress was so pleasant and very responsive whenever we needed something. Regarding the food however, this could use great improvement. We ordered two lamb dishes (sauces good but lamb was so tough and chewy), the butter chicken - very very very good!! The keema and garlic naans were a hit at the table. Here’s where I think they lost a lot of points for me - the rice! How do you get rice wrong?! My husband’s biryani was soooo bad he only ate it because he is nice and won’t ever cause a scene. It tasted like someone asked for the ingredients that go into a biryani and then they experimented with it. Chicken tasted so old and dry. The side dishes of rice were hard and clearly undercooked. I sent back one and requested another but it was still unimpressive. I will rave about their hot sauce!! If you can handle the heat - you need to order a serving or two. It truly paired well with the dishes. My husband said it helped him to eat his dinner since he hated it so much. Going into JAX is such a hassle, I’m hoping they improve- I’m willing to give them another try- unfortunately my family said they won’t be back but I’m thinking with the few things they’ve done well I can give it another go!!"

"So excited for this place to be open and here in Green Cove Springs! The restaurant is a great addition and the minute you walk in you are immediately pleased with it's decor. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was packed! We were seated with only a few minutes wait. All of the serving staff was kind and we got our appetizers of Samosas and Tumeric Hummus. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala and my wife got the Chicken korma. We also shared our friends food too! All of it was really wonderful! Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu!"

"Ate here opening night. The food is delicious and for me that is the most important part. The service was a little shaky but that is to be expected for a brand new restaurant. I'm sure with time that will improve and will match the food."
