"I anticipated good things, but my experience was not great. The restaurant has been in business for 70 + years so maybe my poor experience was a one of. I went for lunch arriving just after the main rush. Staff were taking a bit of down time after being busy. I ordered smothered chicken with the choice of dark meat. The rolls and corn muffins brought out before the meal were good. The dish arrived with my choice of 2 sides. Corn fritters and cabbage. The chicken is covered with what was intended to be an onion gravy I believe. The gravy flavour was not great with sliced onion thrown into it at the last minute..so raw onion. Maybe they ran out and tried to whip some up at the last minute, I don't know. The chicken itself was tender. Corn fritters were small, overcooked and dry. Cabbage was good, just not much of it. They are closed on Sunday with the exception of the first Sunday of the month when they offer a Sunday brunch. That may be worth a second chance."

"The Farmers Market Restaurant has been a staple in this community since 1952. Locals have been coming here for years. And, this is for good reason. The food is wholesome, delicious, and fairly priced. What's more is that the food is served quickly by friendly helpful staff. You could not go anywhere and feel more welcome than this place. So, when you are ready for some good ole down home southern cooking, this is your place. I promise that you won't be disappointed. Be sure to save room for dessert."

"Cute little restaurant. It was really busy for a random Wednesday afternoon which is a great sign. The food was delicious the service was off. I’ve never been handed my ticket before my food comes out. The server wasn’t really friendly or personable. Wham! Bam thank you ma’am situation. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area the shrimp and grits were good, needed some extra seasoning and kick."

"Featured in USA today and other magazines this historic restaurant ( one of oldest in Florida) lives up to the hype and is a must visit in the area!!! Fantastic country fried steak, mac/cheese, rolls, mashed potatoes and green beans. Only disappointment was the lack of quantity of chocolate cream pies! Peanut butter pie is good if you like peanut butter! I even bought a T shirt to wear in pride for the goodness of this restaurant! Several women working have been there for 56 years!"
