"After trying my absolute best to give this community and the staff members a chance, it feels as though I have been left with no choice but to leave this review. I moved into Oleander West this week and sadly, the apartment that I expected to be move-in ready was absolutely disgusting. Upon arrival to the unit, I went from being extremely excited to view my new apartment, to being utterly disappointed. The floors and baseboards were filthy, colorful paint splotches were all over the floors, hair was everywhere, the trash bin was filled with dirt and debris, and the washer and dryer machine was very old. I immediately reached out to the residence experience manager to get answers as to why the unit was not cleaned prior to my move in date, especially because I signed the lease almost two months prior to the move-in date. The residence manager’s only resolution to this problem was to have the cleaners return to clean my unit two days after my initial move-in date. Once I returned back to the unit after I was told by the residence manager that it would be cleaned, the cleaners did not clean the areas that I requested to be cleaned. In fact, they damaged the hardwood flooring with whatever products they used on the floors. The only person who seemed competent in solving the problem was the maintenance manager, who was present once I returned to my unit being filthy for the second time. My experience with Cortland Oleander has been extremely disappointing to say the least, especially since I was so excited to move here after being a resident at Cortland 3131 for a year, which was operated by a wonderful staff. Because of all of these issues, I am currently contemplating moving out of Cortland Oleander, after only being a resident here for 72 hours. It’s truly sad that this beautiful community has incompetent leadership and is not capable of solving severe issues."

"This was by far one of the most disappointing experiences I had while looking at apartments. We stumbled upon Cortland Oleander while traveling to apartment complexes we already had on our list to see. We arrived around 2pm and rang the doorbell to the leasing area. No one came to the door or answered through the intercom. We rang a couple of more times and, then, heard the door click. When we entered the lobby, no one was there. After seeing the offices were empty, we stood in the lobby for over five minutes. Just as I was about to call the number listed on your website as another resort, I saw someone walking down one of the long hallways. The person I saw was walking quite slowly and had their head in the phone the entire time they were walking in my direction, so I could not tell if they were a meandering tenant or one of the staff. Eventually, they looked up and stared at me. I said, "hello", to which they only said, "hey". Confused, I proceeded to ask if they worked for Cortland Oleander (they said, "yes") and I told them that I was searching for an apartment and I wanted to know if a tour would be possible. "We can't do that today. You'll have to make an appointment." They cut me off and spoke to me as if I was inconveniencing them. I then told them I was only in town for the day and asked if there were any other options- it was only then that they mentioned the self-guided tour option. I eagerly accepted that offer and off I went to tour the models. I loved what I saw. When I returned, I told them that I was interested in applying for one of the available units. I asked a few questions, to which their answers were less than helpful ("I don't know", followed by no effort to find a solution). I asked if it was possible for an agent to reach out to me for further information and, possibly, to receive a FaceTime tour or a video sent of the actual unit in which I was interested. They said that they would set that up and reach out to me the following day. That was four days ago. Needless to say, I have moved on to secure great apartment in a beautiful community with a much more kind and hospitable leasing team. You all have very nice homes and a lovely community at a great value- it's too bad that the hospitality pales in comparison. UPDATE 1/10: In the company's reply, they say they sent me a video of the unit. I never received any correspondence from them, except an email asking for a review."
