"Coastal was amazing. I came down to help my step grandmother on a rental property that was trashed. We need led new counter tops in the whole kitchen and master bathroom. These people blow my expectations out of the water and the price can't be beat."
"I haven’t actually had any countertop work done yet- BUT, I have had the best experience with one of the office ladies, Melinda. She has been so sweet and accommodating. She had people out to my house literally same day. Her excellence compelled me to write this review. MELINDA, YOU ROCK!"
"My husband and I hired them to work in our kitchen last year, they did a good job. So we hired them again a few weeks ago for our bathroom countertop. The job was done but they stole 3 of my husband watches. The watches was seating on the dresser, my husband move the watches, put them on a duffle bag right before they enter the room and once they left all 3 watches was gone. My husband confronted the workers and report it to the police."
"What started off as a pleasant and efficient process turned into an absolute mess. Scheduled as the second job on Friday and was told they would be at my home at 11 they did not show up until 1:30 to install a vanity top only to find that the measurement was incorrect by 3/4 of an inch. Installed only one piece and did not properly ensure corner support resulting in a lift of the top. In addition, they damaged the wall and chipped/broke the corner of the mirror and no one offered to fix it. When I showed them they chipped the cabinets the reply was, you should have a touch up paint kit. They came back on Monday to install the corrected second piece and backsplash. They never measured the reveal to ensure proper and square install, used a grinder on the backsplash resulting in a wavy surface when installed on top of the granite. Came back on Tuesday and with the assistance of my husband and two hours of work they were able to square the countertop. Backsplash was removed and measured for a new piece. Wednesday came to install the backsplash, it was too long. At this point, with 6 days of patience and no working sinks, I called the office to share my dissatisfaction. Rather than being understanding that they screwed up this job from the very beginning the owner blamed me—“they always seem to have a problem when you are there”. Really! I am not the one who measured incorrectly nor installed incorrectly. I am a paying customer. The owner then told me that I was not allowing the guys in the do their work. I was sitting in my living room while they came and went so that was not true. The owner then threatened to pull them off the job completely! Really?! I am a paying customer taking time off from my work for days, did not have sinks for days for what should have been a simple job. Lousy customer service, poor workmanship, and to have the owner threaten a customer is inexcusable! Pay a little more and go with a more reputable company that knows how to treat their customers correctly, do the job right the first time and make good on any issues."
"Wonderful! Sadly, I’m not much for reviewing and it seems, more and more, if I feel compelled to review a product or business it is because they have failed me. Not so with Coastal Granite and Marble. I’m also not prone to hyperbole but would definitely give them 6 stars were that option available! From start to finish we received the best service! Melinda was awesome to us and even worked with us on pricing to help us get the look we wanted and still stay within budget. Local big box (first letter starts with L) wanted nearly 3 times as much for, what we considered, a lesser granite! Coastal has a great selection that the big boxes don’t have and we found a stone that fit our budget, our design and our taste. Since this is a small cottage on our farm we did not see the necessity to spend thousands more and Melinda helped us achieve that goal. They were also very flexible with us on our schedule. Our dates kept slipping and we were able to easily change our installation dates with no issues. The installation was finally able to be accomplished yesterday and we could not be more pleased! The look exceeded our expectations and the quality of the work is exceptional. The team (3 great guys) that installed did an excellent job. They were courteous, thoughtful and caring of our home and respected that this is not just a jobsite! When they cut the faucet holes for us they took great care to keep dust at a minimum. Indeed, since the place is still in final stages of renovation, I can’t say we even noticed any debris at all once they left. We also had a large buffet that is to be used as a coffee bar. Coastal had a great display of remnants in their yard and on our initial visit we caught sight of an amazing type of granite simply called “Black and White”. We chose this as a top for the coffee bar and it, again, exceeded our expectations! Plus, because it was a remnant Coastal offered us an exceptional price on this stone. This was a much higher end piece than we would have chosen but the remnant price allowed us to have the extra luxury without the extra cost. Again, big box simply charges price per square foot even if they were to use a remnant, you’d never know! One final note, and for us, it’s the little things like this that make a business exceptional. Because of code requirements our dishwasher installation requires an “air gap” which requires a faucet sized hole adjacent to the sink. Additionally the faucet we chose required 4 holes so that brought us to a total of 5. Again, the big boxes want to charge you per hole and so do other companies that we have worked with in the past. In this case the installer came in after the slab was set, asked me how many holes, reviewed the faucet and air gap that I had on hand and proceeded to cut the holes where needed. Simple! It took him less than 10 minutes and it was included! The main farm house on the property will be renovated in about 5 years and when this is done, Coastal has my business for all of the stone work we need."
