"In a terrible, terrible moment in our lives, he served as a counselor to both my wife and myself. He was pushy (forcing everything into having to fit his "family of origin" style) and manipulating and re-wording statements. Instead of listening and trying to facilitate healing, he pushed his own agenda. He greatly exacerbated an already terrible situation, and ultimately completely betrayed my trust and his professional obligations when before our first (and only real) joint session together with him, he left my wife a voicemail saying that he wanted to be sure she had no expectations of our session. He told her that I had rejected everything he had said and that nothing good was ever going to happen in our relationship until I had done what he had asked. There were many more damaging aspects of his "counsel" that are too numerous and too personal to list, but; suffice to say, I genuinely believe that seeing him may have been the worst, most damaging thing that ever happened to us."
