"I don't get all these bad reviews. This are the kids fault, not the schools fault. Also, I've been going here for (5) years and never had a problem, and now I'm in fifth grade. General awesome school. I can understand the bullying, but in this school it's very rare, and I have never seen someone being bullied throughout my years here. Some teachers are strict because I've seen the classes here and some of the kids are no offence, but really bad kids and I don't blame the teachers for being strict. It's also just the way teachers teach, if they need to be strict then they will."
"Very bad experience with the school, my children have attended since Kindergarten and one was bullied all First Grade, I spoke with Assistant Principle and continued until almost the end of the year. They are now in Second grade and recently my child was burned on the side of her face with a hot tray from one of the Cafeteria staff members. Very disappointing and now I am now afraid for my children's safety at this school."
"Not like it matters now but..back in 1987 in second grade...they were beating myself and other students with paddles just for using a bad word. I only reported someone else used a bad word and they beat us both like dogs. I remember one neurotic teacher named Sherry Ivy who would rage in class and scare the sht out of children...make them urinate in their pants etc. She even dumped this poor girls desk out on the floor one morning for not being orderly enough or because she forgot something. I give this school one star because there was never any justice for the children they abused. Georgia has a poor record at human rights...historically more so than any state. If any other people read this and experienced this sort of thing at this school back in the 80"s...let me know. We will get together and make justice happen. My advice to others today is...get out of Georgia if you want the best life you can possibly have in America. Run the numbers and look at history...and you should conclude the same."
"Unfortunately my children must attend this school because we purchased a house in the area. This was one of my children's first year. Luckily she had a great teacher. This year was my son's second year. First year he had a great teacher. This year he was not so lucky. He had to deal with a lot in this class. It changed him as a person. He went from almost making it into the gifted program to getting low marks. He still made the A B honor roll pretty much on his own. I was involved as much as possible. School lunches, field trips, pta, performances, school dance, and field day I was at the school. The last day of school I could not be there and both of my childrens medications were thrown away. They have my phone number, my husband's number, my job's number, and both of my assistants personal numbers. Not one time did they call. If next year starts off to rocky I just my look into private schools."
"It's my kids first year at Benefield, and they are really disappointed because in the other school wich is MEADOWCREEK ES they used to participate in the clubs,my daughter was in the art club, running club, and music club...and the clubs are for free,we don't paid nothing...and my son was in the reading club...also they have awards ceremony two times a year and that keeps kid motivated to work hard and their grades. Well we are sad to have to change school but we moved to this area and we don't have choice.I'm a happy volunteer there for almost 3 years and still doing it."
