ACR

"I was first introduce to ACR when one of their case managers, Emeka Smith called me. She begin starting the conversation by asking me questions that didn't have any thing to do with housing or tried to get to know a little something about me. And when I didn't answer her questions to her satisfaction, she kept on saying I wouldn't being compliance. Then the second time we spoke over the phone I had my another case manager [at the time] on the phone with us. This time Emeka was aggressive and rude calling me toxic multiple times for no reason without giving a clear explanation why she saying those things. Then she wanted to speak with my other case manager's supervisor. Also during that call, we scheduled appointment for us to meet face-to-face. And when we did a couple of weeks later — Emeka lied and said she never called me toxic. And acted like it was perfectly fine for her to speak to me that way. I asked her would she refer me to another agency that handles housing. She declined. A few months later I moved into a new place. I told Emeka I didn't feel comfortable living here because of some strange behavior I witnessed. Plus, the leasing office wouldn't give me the mailbox key. After 2 months of asking for my mailbox key, Emeka finally spoke with them and I was given a key. A few months after that the housing inspector came out and my apartment FAILED. Now, you would think Emeka would advocate for me so the complex fix the issues with my apartment. She never did. Most recently the inspector came out and my apartment FAILED once again. This time Emeka called and told me, I have to move ASAP. Even though, my lease isn't up until next year. And you would think she would recommend some places, but I had to ask her. It's been 2 and a half years since I've been dealing with ACR. And since I've been living here, Emeka has only made 3 home visits — last year [2022]. She barely calls and at this point I do not want to speak with her. As a matter of fact, I dislike her all together. Emeka is well aware I don't have a great relationship with my family. And my friends live in other states. It is just me and my small dog. And being that I am bipolar, it'll be nice to feel like I have someone to advocate for me sometimes. But it feels like Emeka is an enemy and just don't give a damn about me or my mental health. In conclusion I'm not sure if other ACR employees is anything like Emeka Smith. But if so... See if they would recommend you to another agency."
