"I did a pick-up order and the beef birria tacos does not taste the same or look the same as when I first ate there when it just opened. There were only onions in my tacos. The lime and cilantro is nowhere to be found and the quality is just not worth the $18. Even the shrimp and chicken tacos I got for my boyfriend was a little dry. I don’t know if my food was rushed but pick up order was not a good experience."
"This place is great to get authentic Mexican food! The owner is great and very personable. The food was excellent...drinks - perfection. If I could give more stars I would!"
"Perfect for a girls brunch! We always choose a different place every month - until we tried D Boca N Boca! Helio and his team are amazing. Definitely recommend the birria tacos and their guacamole!?!"
"We really wanted to like this as we moved our office nearby recently and wanted to find a new go to for lunch, but were unfortunately disappointed. I’m from Houston and have spent quite a bit of time in Mexico City, so was hopeful. We tried to start with jalapeños rellenos, but were informed that they were not available. We wanted a white wine, but they don’t carry any that are not sparkling or red so I got a beer and my partner got the house margarita. We each ordered the lunch special consisting of three tacos, rice and beans for $18 per person. My partner ordered the camarones, al pastor, and “ribeye” tacos and I the camarones, al pastor and carnitas. We were informed that they had just gotten some pork and it hadn’t been processed/marinated so the carnitas and al pastor had to be switched. We both ended up with shrimp, chicken, and “ribeye.” The shrimp was actually pretty good, but the chicken and beef were both dry, and if that beef was ribeye as they claimed, I have never had that cut of meat dryer. They made a point on the menu to mention that they mill various types of heirloom corn for their tortillas, and maybe that drove this, but the tortillas were also super dry. The black beans lacked any personality and were overly salty and the rice was mushy and the salsas weren’t much to write home about either. On the upside, the service was friendly and attentive and my partner’s margarita had some kick to it (though she thought the lime component seemed like it came from a mix). At $15, we would have expected better. One other item of note: the online lunch menu had the tacos at $4/ and the menu on the table had them listed at $7/. Could have mistakenly placed the dinner menu? Didn’t impact us since we had the special, but something to be aware of. I really did want to like it, and maybe today was unusual, but it was a disappointment all in all."
