"We found Kennedy Creek last September and have been back twice since then. The setting is absolutely beautiful with direct views of the mountains and sprawling grounds where the resort sits. They offer everything from tent camping and yurts, to beautiful cabins. We’ve tent camped once and brought our RV twice. If you’re camping, expect spacious campsites with amazing views. You won’t feel crowded in this place. If RVing, you can opt for a site with electrical hookup but they don’t have water or plumbing yet. They do have showers so we didn’t come close to filling our gray/black tanks on our recent 5 day stay. What I like as an RVer is the open space and views. You won’t feel like you’re in a crowded RV park that’s for sure. The resort also has a 2000’ x 60’ grass runway (GA87) which is absolutely gorgeous. In my opinion this should be a bucket list destination for all pilots that can manage to get in to 2000’ fields. One of the owners has a beautiful “Just” bush plane and he can usually be found flying most Saturday and Sunday mornings. The staff is super friendly and will take great care of you during your stay. It won’t take long for you to realize that they absolutely care about you and your experience. They’ll go out of their way to make sure you enjoy their little slice of paradise. This probably sounds like a paid advertisement but I’m just a happy camper that hopes this place experiences the success it deserves. I’ve been to Ellijay, Helen, Blairsville, Dahlonega, and a lot of other well known mountain spots, and this place is my favorite by far."
"Let me preface this by saying that we stayed here during the Christmas weekend. Everyone deserves to spend the holidays away from work and with their families. However, with the kind of money we spent for this stay, we were left wanting much much more from value. Positives: The rooms were very cozy, and private. The restrooms were comfortable and warm. The property is vast and beautiful. Negatives: Check-in: Non-existent. There was no communication about the process or instructions beforehand. The property was left completely unattended and we had to let ourselves into the rooms. Restaurant: Was closed for the holidays, which meant that we did not even have a chance to ask for some water. Amenities: There were none. No soap, no drinking water, no extra towels, no firewood, nothing. We had to go shopping for necessities the next day. Security: we ended up feeling very unsafe because, again there was LITERALLY NOBODY to take care of the property, and we kept seeing people drive in, drive around, use the bathrooms, etc. Property Setup: This is nothing about the service or the staff itself, but the restroom facilities are in a different building from our cabins, which meant that on the day that it rained heavily, we were not able to go use the restroom for a while in the morning, since it was dark, rainy and muddy, and also meant that when we were able to go there, ALL of our belongings were completely covered in muck."
"My wife and I took a spontaneous trip to northeastern Georgia to visit Dahlonega, Blood Mountain on the Appalachian trail, and surrounding areas. We had planned to stay at Kennedy Creek at a no electricity lot where we would set up a tent. However, the weather turned bad, it was forecasted to rain a lot, and temperatures were dropping. We asked the staff if we could upgrade our stay to a yurt and were very quickly and very kindly accommodated. Though the weather outside was cold and rainy we were warm, comfortable, and dry inside the yurt. The facilities were nice and speaking with the staff and other guests made us feel at home with other hikers and travelers. I cannot say enough good things about our stay! We will be back!"
"The food was great! The view was fantastic. We are local so we didn't stay at the resort. We just went there for dinner. The view is a long view across the field and airstrip to the mountains. Lovely anytime of year, but stunning with fall color. Very dog friendly, and in the early evenings at dinner there is a peaceful welcoming community vibe."
