"The warmth and beauty of the entirety of this property is exceptional! Chevin is a generous hostess with a true love of helping with our special day. It’s nice knowing we can house out of town guests on the property. Accessibility for our limited mobility folks looks easy. There’s space for all wedding activities from start to finish. The catering space will definitely suit our caterers away from our guests. Joy radiates across this property and we’re very much looking forward to sharing our special day with our families at Splendor Mountain!"

"Beautiful October Wedding at Splendor Mountain 10/22/22 For People who love short reviews: Chevin Woodruff and her son Uri, provided outstanding service for the use of their entire Mountain view property, including rehearsal space, reception building, and gorgeous outdoor area for the wedding service. Chevin has great love and care for the people that come to Splendor Mountain. Uri works extremely hard to make sure the property and buildings look fresh and well kept. It has been just over two months and we are still so impressed by the level of care and support we received the entire weekend. You will not be disappointed if you select Splendor Mountain for your wedding venue. For People who love long reviews: Chevin Woodruff and her son Uri provided our son and our new daughter in law with the most outstanding service for their wedding weekend. From the moment our families met Chevin we knew we were in good hands. The property is outstanding with broad sweeping views of the mountains and feels isolated yet only about 10-15 minutes from Clayton. It has many vista spots, trails, a pond, lovely buildings and two cabins for lodging (extra). It was a fantastic weekend!! We visited the venue several times throughout the process, Chevin was always happy to answer questions and let us walk around the property working out our plans. She spent several hours meeting with us and the wedding planner. There is not a more patient person on earth than Chevin. Uri is the other powerhouse member of the team, he works tirelessly on improving the property, maintaining the buildings and setting up for the ceremony. The property is beautiful and meant to be secluded. If you want paved sidewalks, flat easy roads and WIFI, then this is not the place. If you want a mountain view, walking trails, nature in all her glory then this is the place. So peaceful! Chevin has worked with many people in the area and she had several recommendations for vendors to make the weekend complete. We really liked Jean from Apple Blossom for the flowers, Jenny from Frommage, for the rehearsal dinner, Carlton for bartending, Honeybrook catering, for the reception dinner, DJ connections, Giselle from Luna Rose Events, and last but not least Karen who helped both Chevin and Giselle. It takes a village! It has been just over two months and we are still so impressed by the level of care and support we received the entire weekend. You will not be disappointed if you select Splendor Mountain for your wedding venue."

"A very SPLENDID, Splendor Mountain family reunion! What a beautiful, fun-filled mini family reunion we had this August... A whirlwind 22 of us, from ages 18 months to 75! The grounds and cottages Ruby & Sapphire were filled with joyful hoots n' hollers, play & comfort.. Our meals were delicious and picking up groceries from nearby Ingles/Walmart or any number of eateries in town, easy as pie/cakes. The weather a perfect late summer, balmy weekend.. There were different areas for the kids to swim, throw frisbees, play chase & catch. The cottages were perfect. moms and dads and kids and grands sleeping up to six in beds on the main floor & loft. The downstairs had game tables with lots of additional floor space to add a few blowup mattresses. There were also comfy beds for six and a full bathroom downstairs as well. Most of our meals were in the Sunrise Lodge, where there is a huge kitchen for cooking & eating lunch and dinner or preparing a picnic lunch if the families wanted to explore & hike. Our family had at least one big meal on Saturday there, with everyone bringing something yummy (I've never seen so much food!!).. We were having so much fun all day & night.. swimming, eating, talking & playing that we didn't have time to go up to the overlook for a bonfire & s'mores (next time!!). The lodge has a small fire pit, so everyone stayed at the lodge. There is also a walking labyrinth on the property for reflective & meditative relaxation. Most of all the time went so fast! We promised to organize another bigger family reunion for 2023 or 2024. In the meantime, we feel blessed that our dear sister hostess Chevin and nephew Uri and niece Rachael, have created, with such oving care & attention to detail, a very Splendid Splendor Mountain for the enjoyment of all who visit! We have so many photos & videos to enjoy & re-live our fantastic Woodruff-Illges gathering!"

"I cannot recommend Splendor Mountain enough. Chevin was an absolute dream to work with and so helpful. She is gracious and truly cares about her clients. We had our wedding here in September of this year, and the property honestly feels like paradise. It is beyond stunning, and the cabins we stayed in were so cute and spacious! Chevin was incredible from the moment I called to inquire about the venue all the way to telling her goodbye after our wedding. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with plenty of backdrops to choose from, this is the place. I loved it so much. So many locations for pictures no matter what the occasion is. Downtown Clayton is not a far drive at all if you are looking for some good restaurants and coffee shops. We loved our experience here!"

"We had our wedding November 9, 2019 and it could not have been more PERFECT. The owners were always so welcoming and always willing to help in the months leading up to the big day. We did the weekend package and would 100% recommend doing so, you are able to have the rehearsal dinner there, we even decided last minute that we wanted to have a fire up on the very top of the mountain at the fire pit and they did it with no questions asked! The bridal party stayed in the two cabins Friday night, wedding was Saturday and they along with their plus ones were able to stay Saturday after the reception. It was the perfect size, plenty of room and loved the woods/cabin feel. The honeymoon suite was just the perfect size for what we needed and nice and secluded so we woke up and walked outside, hearing the water running from the creek and was a great way to wake up the morning after. We can't say enough wonderful things about Splendor Mountain, it truly made our day so special!"
