The Dillard House

"Have been coming here for 20+ years, the same weekend in December. We were surprised how few customers were eating a 6:00 pm. It used to be packed, what happened? We rent the same large Chalet every year, but there was a last minute problem with the water that wouldn't be resolved by the time we got there. They made arrangements with a nearby competitor of theirs to accommodate us. It was a great facility, but we prefer our usual Chalet!"

"I stayed one night at the Dillard House on December 14, 2023. I used to stay here years ago when kayaking in the area, and was very happy to see that the ambiance and service hasn’t changed. The Dillard family still owns and manages the property. The rooms are rustic but clean and comfortable. The family style meals were very good with an abundance of southern favorites and great service. I will be coming back!"

"Really nice place tried the food for the first time! My bros always love coming here and rave about the food! But I really wish that they had the country fried steak and mac n cheese the other day. I wasn't able to try those items, but the chicken was delicious. Ate A LOT of food and had some grueling stomach pain later that night but I guess it was worth it!"

"Dinner only. Food was family dinner table style servings. Bowls of fresh vegetables, fried chicken, smothered pork chops. These were very good. Dessert was apple crisp with ice cream. Didn't like the Dessert. Staff was friendly and very courteous and helpful. We were a church bus group and they were prepared for the large number of people and handled it well."

"Absolutely beautiful and serene. The honeymoon suites with a fireplace is so relaxing. Everything about the restaurant is perfect. At the stables, the staff was so kind and I enjoyed talking to the guides during the ride through the river. They even threw a BBQ while we were there with live music and all you could eat. Can’t say enough good things."
