"I don’t know what is going on at the Howell Mill Rd location but my last view visits have been terrible. I brought my dog in yesterday for a heartworm shot; the receptionist tried to tell me my dog only needed flea medication. After several rounds of back and forth, everything was settled. They take the dog to the back; 1.5 hours later, we’re ready to leave and tech comes out from the back to get my dog again! They forgot to give her the shot. This is NOT a simple mistake. Pet parents rely on the team to administer medication, especially when they take the dog out of your care and you can’t watch to confirm that the vet did what they were supposed to do. Heartworms kill. Get it together Banfield."
"Banfield it’s normally great but wait times at this place are unacceptable, was told to come at 4 and was not seen till after 5, why even bother telling me to come at 4? Just to waste time and stress the dog? Furthermore I was only seen after checking what was taking so long and it seemed pretty obvious they had forgotten about me."
"They are “fine” if your pet doesn’t have any medical issues. There is no consistency- I told them about my pet’s condition on my first visit, yet each time there was a flare up they acted like it was the first time they were hearing about it. The last visit, I had to explain what the condition is and how I have heard it should be treated. Comprehensive exams are drop off for HOURS- I dropped off at 10am and was called to pick up at 4pm. I could go on and on about the negatives"
"i had an appointment to get a vaccine for my dog at 3:00pm. I got there a bit early at 2:45. I was informed at the front desk that they would actually be taking my dog which was not communicated to me beforehand. The person at the front desk told me it would probably take an hour (also not communicated with me). I figured I could get a little shopping done at the stores nearby and I returned after an hour. The person at the front desk said it would be another 25 minutes. I said okay and I sat and waited. It was 5:00pm at this point. The person at the front desk said they weren't going to lie to me any more and there were three dogs ahead of me and it would be another hour. I was so upset. I have no idea why it would take this long and I had no idea where my dog was or what kind of conditions she was in. I decided to go home and get some chores done. After ANOTHER HOUR I get a call and they had no idea what vaccine she needed to get. I told them which one. They said she's being seen now and it won't be much longer...I decide to give it another half hour and when I was back, there was a huge line of other upset customers. One guy had been waiting since 9:30am, another since 2:00pm, and another couple who was charged the wrong amount because the staff had mixed up dogs! I finally get to the front and check out my dog. It was $123 for a four hour wait and I actually have no proof that my dog was even seen or given a vaccine. When I was handed her, she had no leash or collar on and she was panting and drank so much water when I got her home. Also, the staff did not try to schedule a follow up. I was told from an out of state vet that the influenza vaccine is a DOUBLE DOSE and she needs to be seen again in three weeks. The staff at Banfield didn't tell me that. If I didn't know better, I would not have gotten one and the whole four hours and $123 would have been a waste. To get the second dose would be another $123 at least and who knows how long the wait is. Terrible."
